As Kakashi watched Naruto and Sasuke's battle, Edward remained confused about how he'd ended up in Obito's body. His mind raced, wondering what he should do next.
"What the hell do I do now? Most likely, I'll end up in prison like Sasuke. How stupid… I'll have to bear Obito's sins, but I have no choice. I won't die again."
With a sigh, Edward stood up from the rock he'd been sitting on and activated his Sharingan. A strange sensation washed over him as he felt the power of those eyes.
"These eyes… It'll take time to get used to them, but I'll master them eventually."
With Obito's memories and knowledge, Edward knew he had the potential to become one of the world's most powerful figures—right alongside Naruto and Sasuke. Of course, he couldn't forget the Ōtsutsuki, who always loomed as a latent threat.
While Edward was lost in thought, Kakashi and Sakura approached Naruto and Sasuke, who now lay exhausted on the ground, each missing an arm.
"Did they finish? I was so caught up in my thoughts I barely noticed the fight. Though it didn't last long… I hope Sasuke won't hold too much of a grudge after everything Obito did to him."
Walking slowly toward Kakashi and the others, Edward stopped in front of Sasuke. He stared intently, then extended his hand in a gesture of reconciliation.
"I know what I did is unforgivable, but I truly hope we can coexist from now on," he said sincerely, though doubts still echoed inside him about whether he even deserved forgiveness.
An awkward silence stretched between them, feeling endless. Finally, Sasuke took Edward's hand and struggled to his feet. His expression was unreadable as he met Edward's gaze.
"I accept your apology," Sasuke said coldly. "That said, I'm grateful you helped us defeat Kaguya."
Edward nodded, feeling a weight lift from his shoulders. Without wasting time, he formed a series of hand seals, and out of nowhere, a White Zetsu appeared.
"Naruto, Sasuke… Thank you for accepting me despite all the harm I've caused. I truly appreciate it," Edward said as blue chakra began swirling around his hands.
With swift, precise movements, Edward extracted the White Zetsu's arms.
"These should be useful to you," he said, offering the limbs. "It's not much, but it's the least I can do to atone."
Some Time Later
After Sasuke dispelled the Infinite Tsukuyomi, the world began to recover—but peace was short-lived. The leaders of the other villages, aware of Obito and Sasuke's roles in the war, demanded an emergency summit.
In an improvised conference room, the Kage gathered with Konoha's leaders: Gaara (Kazekage), A (Raikage), Mei (Mizukage), Ōnoki (Tsuchikage), Tsunade (Hokage), and the former Hokage—Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen, and Minato.
"We cannot let Obito and Sasuke roam free," A declared, slamming his fist on the table. "They're war criminals and must face judgment."
"I agree," Mei added, arms crossed. "Sasuke betrayed his village, and Obito caused countless deaths. Their crimes can't be ignored."
Gaara, calmer but firm, nodded. "They helped defeat Kaguya, but that doesn't erase the past. Justice must be impartial."
Ōnoki leaned forward, glaring at Tsunade. "Konoha can't shield its criminals. If you won't act, we will."
Tsunade glanced at the former Hokage. Hashirama spoke first: "They're right. We can't let them remain free."
Minato, eyes downcast, murmured, "Obito was my student… but his actions were unforgivable. I support his arrest."
Tobirama and Hiruzen nodded silently.
Tsunade sighed. "Very well. Obito and Sasuke will be arrested and tried."
When Naruto heard the verdict, he erupted. "This isn't fair! They saved the world!"
"It's non-negotiable, Naruto," Tsunade said firmly. "The other villages are right."
Sasuke showed no resistance. "This is how it must be," he told Naruto.
But Obito clenched his fists. "You can't do this—" Before he could react, the Kage surrounded him.
With swift seals, they suppressed Obito and Sasuke's chakra, rendering them powerless.
"I'm sorry, Obito," Minato said, pained. "But this is necessary."
Konoha Prison
In their isolated cells, Obito and Sasuke sat bound—chakra sealed, eyes bandaged to block the Sharingan and Rinnegan.
Obito slumped against the wall, frustration and determination warring inside him.
Sasuke meditated silently, resigned but not hopeless.
Outside, Naruto stared at the prison, fists trembling. "This isn't right… I won't let it end like this."
Kakashi placed a hand on his shoulder. "Justice isn't always fair. But don't lose hope."
Naruto nodded, his resolve unshaken.
"No matter what… I won't abandon them."
