*Rowan's POV*
I don't recall ever hearing the voice of the caller throughout my lifetime, it's definitely a woman but who? did Larisa gave my number to someone...? "First of all.. who's looking for me?" "My name is not relevant for you, so tell me.. are you Rowan or not?" the tone clearly went from soft to demanding real quick... "No I'm not, you dialed the wrong number" I could hear her groaning but she doesn't let up "Listen are you Larisa's boyfriend or not? her father wants to discuss something with you" Oh lord what did you do this time Larisa... "No ma'am, I am Rowan, her friend. Her boyfriend is called Joseph" "...Right." before I could answer she hangs up, making me wonder just who the hell she was. Probably Larisa's father friend or something...
As I made my way to Larisa's place the clouds began covering the sun and I was getting a little bit annoyed, I mean whenever I need to do something it rains.. but when I don't have to go somewhere to do stuff nope, sunny as ever "Can't I just get a damn clear weather for once?" I wonder if in the future we're gonna control the weather, yeah.. that's never going to happen but at least we can try.. right? "Man.. pulling this damn suitcase is a pain" I spotted Larisa house and to my surprise Joseph's car was park on the sidewalk "...okay, now hope whoever called me won't show up as well".
I walk up to her front door and knock on it, suddenly a thought popped into my head.. is this going to be the last time I'm gonna see Larisa? I bet it's going to take ages till I see her again, the door opens and the woman in question smiled at me "Hello there Rowan~ we don't have time to talk right now so let's go" "What about Joseph's car..?" "Don't worry, I can drive unlike him.. so when we arrive there, help you settle in.. I'm gonna drive all the way back" with that she steps inside the car and I sigh "Alright, I suppose this will be the final ride with ya?" she rolls her eyes but that smirk curled up on her lips "Don't be so dramatic, come on!" it's probably for the best to not tell her about the call...
*Time skip*
I don't even know for how much time I've been driving for since I switched with Larisa at one point... we mostly talked about random subjects and honestly I can't remember the last time we have deep conversations like these "So what are you going to do first? besides settling in and.. get used to your job?" "I.. I really don't have any ideas.." "Want me to give you some ideas?" I raise an eyebrow, what ideas could she give me? I mean.. she has some fun stuff not gonna lie but still, can't I just find my own ideas to do with my darn life? "Well this is the most obvious one so.. how about you buy a car? after all most people like you are attracted to them".
"I mean.. I wouldn't mind a car but still, I won't going to buy an expensive car because I really don't need it" "Well I can understand that but still.. what are you going to do with your life next?" "I'm not entirely Sure Larisa" "You know... after getting used to your new job you could probably start settle down" that made me instantly thought about Hariko, I can't really say she was my girlfriend but she was a very close friend to me though..
Larisa suddenly placed her hand on my head and it startled me a bit "Sorry for what happened.. I'm sure she's coming back to you though" I would say something but.. I will most likely hurt your feelings and your little heart Larisa "Just give it time.. and you'll see her in no time" how much time though? days? weeks? months? years? decades? suddenly she pointed at something "Stop the car, we arrived" after damn years.. I parked the car like a gentleman and stepped out of it "So where's this place?" she points at a building which has two floors "...That's my new place?" "It also has an attic, but let's head inside shall we? by the way as a way to pay me back for this favor I'll automatically deduct 30% of your salary for the next year" I give her a deadpan look but... honestly, it's not like I can back out from this anyway.
"Don't worry.. already signed up the papers for this beautiful house so you're basically the owner" she grabs my hand as she pulls me with her to my new.. house? she was also pulling the suitcase with her "Totally forgot about that.." she giggles as she opens the door revealing a mostly empty house "Oh yeah.. forgot to tell you that it didn't come with much furniture.. so you have to buy some" why do I feel like I took a massive gamble with this idea of Larisa's..?
"However the bedroom should be furnished" well, I guess that's good? didn't really wanted to sleep on the floor anyway "You like it?" the house was much spacious than the other one, the living room wasn't just a bigger hallway, you can actually move freely in the kitchen without bumping in all sorts of furniture, I bet Hariko would've have so much fun in there "On the first floor you have the living room, kitchen, the bathroom and a dining room" so she already knows the rooms of this house? and she isn't even the owner? what kind of trickery is this?
"On the second floor you have.. main bedroom, one guest room, a dressing room and some sort of storage area" oh lord this house has too many rooms.. most of them I'm not even gonna use for God's sakes.. do I really need this many rooms though..? "Silly me.. forgot the nicest thing" she grabs my wrist and walks upstairs, soon enough making our way to a glass door which she opens, revealing a very beautiful view of the.. sea? although it is pretty far... "A change of scenery usually does wonders on your mind. If you ever want to go on a holiday just drive a totally fair amount of miles~".
At this point I'm starting to wonder what sorts of strings this woman pulled to get this place... "Alright.. the house is nice but.. how about the job?" "Ah yes.. you'll work as a electrical engineer because it pays quite well and you know.. that's what you want from a job" "How much?" she thinks for a while before answering me "I don't know the exact payment but it's enough to sustain yourself" she suddenly hugs me tightly and giggles a bit "I guess that's it for now.." she looks up at me and smiles "Just.. be careful alright? I don't want my best friend to get in trouble.. not to mention you're all alone in here"
She breaks the hug "I will miss you.. make sure you'll send me a pic of your new girlfriend alright?" she giggles and walks downstairs, with me following her behind "By the way.. your shift starts tomorrow~ I'll give you a message where you need to be, or perhaps a call.. we'll see" she opens the front as she waves at me, soon enough closing the door behind her "Another one gone.. have fun with whatever you're doing Larisa.." with a deep sigh I look towards my luggage "...Time to unpack I suppose, then maybe I'll explore the area a little bit... yeah , I won't go bored for a good while".
