Chapter 332 - HP: Wizardry’s a Hassle-Chapter 61: Good Mood

·

The atmosphere at school was quite pleasant, especially for the third-year students.

Two fascinating new courses had been added, allowing them to learn what they needed to know through play and entertainment. What could make them happier than this?

Ah, of course, Professor Trelawney's ominous prophecies in Divination class still appeared frequently, which continued to tug at many people's hearts. For instance, Hermione's roommates Lavender and Parvati paid great attention to those words. They also felt somewhat superior because they believed they knew the future's direction, but more often it was maddening worry that made them a bit neurotic. Hermione found her friends' behavior rather troublesome.

But if we're talking about the most miserable young wizard, that would definitely be Harry.

Snape's daily persecution in Potions class had almost become routine. The worst prophecies from Professor Trelawney's mouth in Divination class were all somehow connected to him. After becoming a girl, he clearly noticed that he, who was already the center of attention, was getting even more attention...

...Most of it from boys!

Just thinking about this made goosebumps pop up all over Harry's body like bamboo shoots after rain.

Harry almost developed an aversion to men.

Bloody hell! Why is it always me who's unlucky?!

(Sorry, Harry-chan)

Vaguely, Harry seemed to hear heaven's utterly insincere apology. Anger rose in his heart, and after being victimized in a Potions class and turned into a girl, he intercepted the old bat who was slowly leaving the classroom last, demanding a passionate confrontation.

Faced with Harry-chan's delicate scolding and protests, Snape expended tremendous effort to make his tone and emotions appear normal, replying coldly:

"Since you indicate that my behavior is inappropriate, then let's change the approach."

"Each class, I'll only give you one question. The scope will be limited to previously learned knowledge. If you answer correctly, you won't have to drink the potion. If you're wrong... you understand."

Harry's heart jumped. She suddenly felt—why was this old bat being so reasonable? Instead of immediately deducting ten or twenty points for defying a professor and adding punishment, he had actually taken a step back?

Had he taken the wrong potion?

Although she didn't know why, it was a good thing, so she might as well press her advantage.

"In that case, could the punishment be—"

"The punishment content cannot be changed. Further discussion is pointless. Now, leave."

After saying this, Snape didn't linger. He walked past Harry-chan with large strides and disappeared outside the Potions classroom door.

If he didn't leave now, Professor Snape's expression wouldn't hold up.

You think this is my compromise?

No, you're still too young, Harry.

As for why?

Figure it out yourself—assuming you can notice something's wrong.

Time to go, time to go.

While Harry was surprised by Snape's reasonableness, she also sighed slightly.

At least now she had a chance to avoid punishment through her own studying. In the previous month, Snape had bombarded her with a pile of questions, one after another. No matter how capable she was, it was impossible to answer endless questions correctly.

Previously, Harry had answered four questions correctly in a row thanks to frantic cramming before class. When she saw Snape's sour face as he turned away, she thought she'd escaped disaster that day. But unexpectedly, that guy had actually sat in the chair on the platform to wage a war of attrition with her, looking like he wouldn't let her go until she answered wrong.

Harry was devastated on the spot.

What the bloody hell was this?!

But now, through her fearless charge and reasonable argument, the life-or-death Q&A session had been limited to one question per class. The situation seemed to have opened up.

This indirectly boosted Harry's spirits.

And today, during Potions class, Harry had stayed up all night cramming Potions to answer the question correctly. Her efforts hadn't been in vain—Harry successfully answered Snape's question and escaped the fate of becoming a girl.

Brilliant!

Under the positive feedback of achieving goals through effort, Harry's mood today was so good it could practically soar. Moreover, another piece of information he cared about, was deeply interested in, and took to heart had also reached his ears.

The Quidditch season was about to begin.

So Harry could once again joyfully sweat on the Quidditch pitch and release his mental fatigue.

But this elation quickly evaporated because a new notice had been posted on the bulletin board.

"The first Hogsmeade weekend will be open on Halloween eve at the end of October. This is fantastic—I've been waiting for this news for ages!"

Below the bulletin board, Hermione speed-read through the content of the notice that had been posted tonight, turning to tell Glenn this with sparkling eyes.

"Honeydukes candy shop, the Three Broomsticks pub, Madam Puddifoot's tea shop, Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop, the Shrieking Shack... My travel plans are already burning hot in my mind!"

"Then I'll just follow you around."

Glenn shrugged and said this.

He wasn't particularly interested in these things—mainly he'd go to accompany Hermione, and incidentally examine the secret passage under the Whomping Willow that connected to the Shrieking Shack, to see how best to design defensive and offensive devices.

"Hey, could you not be so dismissive? Quickly turn your brain and see if you have any good ideas to help me have fun... Huh?"

Hermione grabbed Glenn's head and rubbed it affectionately in her hands, then her gaze caught sight of someone whose emotions were completely different from the surrounding young wizards—walking dejectedly away from the crowd.

"Why is Harry unhappy again? He should be in a pretty good mood these past few days since he answered questions correctly in Potions class and wasn't punished by Professor Snape."

Hermione was puzzled. Because of the prophecies her roommates had received in Divination class, and because of Snape's punishment and Ginny's request, Hermione had been paying quite a bit of attention to this poor little wizard lately. She had just seen Harry's face full of sunshine and smiles, but after she finished reading the notice and chatted with Glenn for a few sentences, that guy's mood had plummeted dramatically—it was comparable to the traditional Dragon Kingdom art of face-changing.

How about... telling Ginny?

Good idea—let little Ginny have the headache.

And give this little girl a chance for close contact with her crush, hehe.

"What's wrong with you now? Why are you suddenly smiling so mischievously?"

Moving Hermione's little paws away from his head, Glenn casually smoothed his disheveled hair, puzzled by Hermione's sudden change.

Hermione's moods were always wonderfully changeable. Although he understood her well, he often still couldn't keep up with the little girl's way of looking at things and the feelings she derived from them.

When in doubt, ask—this was Glenn's good habit.

"I suddenly remembered something delightful. It's nothing, don't worry about it."

Hermione waved her hand dismissively, restraining most of her smile.

Filtering out unnecessary information and not telling Glenn to let him worry less was also Hermione's good habit.
