It wasn't until she left the house that Jane Yu realized her surviving alchemical products had turned black, her hairband, bracelet... they no longer shone.
She broke into a cold sweat.
She must have inadvertently triggered the house's protective magic. If it weren't for them shielding her from the attack, she might have perished in the cabin!
She was truly fortunate!
Reflecting on her luck, Jane Yu walked back towards the grove, feeling her gradually recovering body could withstand another long journey.
As long as she grabbed the teacup, she could use this type of instant-touch Portkey to return to Hogwarts and let the Aurors come to find Harry.
"Teacup, come!"
With the incantation, the teacup landed in her hand, but the Portkey's function seemed to have malfunctioned.
Normally, if it was a two-way key, she should have appeared at Hogwarts.
But it didn't happen; Jane Yu felt a tug at her navel and found herself landing behind a strange tombstone.
Jane Yu was startled!
Perhaps her failed Apparition caused the Portkey to determine she hadn't reached her destination, thus sending her here instead!
She was sitting on someone's grave, surrounded by densely packed burial mounds.
Voices suddenly came from a distant tombstone, mixed with the hissing of snakes, Harry's moans, and the bubbling sound of potion brewing.
"Father's bone... rebirth..."
It was Peter Pettigrew's voice!
The distant grave emitted a cracking sound, something fell into the potion, making its bubbling sound sharp and piercing.
"Servant's flesh... rebirth..."
The sound of a blade piercing flesh echoed, followed by a loud scream that pierced the eardrums, something fell into the water with a splash.
"Enemy's blood... resurrection..."
Jane Yu's eyes widened as she realized what was happening there—
Harry was captured by Pettigrew, and a mysterious ritual to resurrect Voldemort was underway!
She suddenly darted out from behind the tombstone, aiming her wand at the cauldron large enough to fit an adult.
Pettigrew was adding Harry's blood to it, the surface began to boil, sparks flying.
"Fire God, clear the way!"
A dragon of fire shot towards the cauldron, the flames touching the already brewing potion, instantly merging into it, a large cloud of steam erupted!
"Reducto!"
The spell hit the stone cauldron, causing it to crack and shatter, the broken stone fragments scattered all over.
"Master! Master!" Pettigrew, frightened, fell to the side, the unfinished Harry's blood spilled on the ground.
The potion was forced to evaporate by the flames, leaving only a bizarre, cauldron-sized, blister-covered baby inside, screaming!
"Ah—Wormtail!!"
Pettigrew was already blistered, he stumbled to the shattered cauldron, attempting to lift the large baby with his remaining hand:
"But you succeeded, you resurrected, Master!"
Pettigrew failed; the baby's size was larger than him, making it impossible to lift.
"Fool! Fool!" The giant baby screamed, "The potion wasn't brewed long enough! Harry Potter's blood wasn't fully added! Look at what I've become!"
Jane Yu couldn't help but feel nauseous at the sight of the baby.
His skin was dark red, blistered from the high-temperature flames, oozing yellow fluid; limbs curled together, only the left arm was normal, the rest like dried twigs; his head was much larger than his body, with a snake-like face and no nose.
Worse, he was completely naked, the entire baby exposed, anyone would feel uncomfortable looking at him.
"Where's my robe? My robe?"
Voldemort screamed.
"Master, master, it... it was burned by her!"
Pettigrew wailed, clutching his severed arm.
"Your brain? Fool!"
Both turned to look in Jane Yu's direction, recognizing her face, Pettigrew showed fear and hatred, while baby Voldemort began to scream:
"Barty! Damn Barty! He betrayed me! Who did he send over?"
"Master! I warned you she was untrustworthy! She nearly killed me once!" Pettigrew frantically argued, "Barty Crouch lost his loyalty—"
Voldemort roared, but his baby form made him look completely unthreatening:
"Kill her! Kill her! Wormtail! Damn it, look at what you've turned me into?"
Pettigrew tremblingly raised his wand, attempting to cast a Killing Curse at her under his master's orders, but fear and the pain of his severed arm made his movements extremely slow.
Jane Yu cast "Expelliarmus," sending his wand spinning into her hand.
"Useless! My wand! You made me lose my wand!"
Jane Yu seized the opportunity, planning to finish off this newborn baby Voldemort.
She tried to muster the killing intent, attempting to cast an Avada Kedavra, but felt the terrifying nature of the Unforgivable Curse.
Unlike the Killing Curse she used in the illusion, she felt her soul being torn, a profound nausea slowing her spell gesture.
"Quick, leave here!"
With his tool for murder taken away, Voldemort, adaptable, immediately screamed for his servant to flee with him.
The best strategy is to retreat.
He mastered the art of surviving.
"Apparate!" Pettigrew shouted.
With a pop, both disappeared from the spot, Jane Yu's spell struck the ground.
But her heart sank heavily.
This is bad!
Voldemort is alive!
She failed to stop him! Harry couldn't do it either!
The wizarding world is doomed!
