Chapter 69: Danzo Dies
Danzo's expression was dark; he didn't have much of a chance of escape. The only way he could do so was to 'die' once more and use that small window to escape. But even so, it seemed Naruto could sense him.
"How high is Uzumaki's sensory ability?... No, more like, how did he become so strong in just two years? He never proved himself a prodigy. And even with Jiraiya's training skills, it's impossible for him to unleash the boy's full potential in just two years," Danzo was thinking as he looked at Naruto, who was staring fearlessly into his eyes at the moment.
Danzo considered using the sharingan in his left eye, but he couldn't enter Naruto's mindscape or even put him in a genjutsu.
"Tch."
Clicking his tongue, Danzo leaped toward Kakashi, the currently weakest. However, the masked man wasn't called a prodigy for nothing. Even though he wasn't in peak condition, he dodged Danzo's blow while sending out a kick to boost himself further with Danzo's block. And, almost at the same time, he threw several shuriken.
Tsunade didn't choose to wait and used shunshin to move toward Danzo and send out a powerful blow that broke his arms at the shoulder as he tried to block. Danzo wasn't actually weak, but against Tsunade alone, he didn't stand a chance unless he used all his tricks. The old war hawk didn't have the best senses or the most powerful ninjutsu, but he still had great mastery of his skills.
Therefore, it wasn't difficult for him to spit out a vacuum sphere even with his broken arms, hitting Tsunade, causing her to retreat a few meters.
Naruo, who was watching and waiting for a distraction or the right moment to attack, jumped at this moment as the enormous wooden dragon followed closely behind him. Kakashi blinked, just recognizing that Naruto was using Mokuton; he didn't ask anything; it wasn't the time for that.
"Kakashi-sensei, prepare your Raikiri!" Naruto exclaimed, and Kakashi stopped on a tree branch, deciding to trust his student. Lightning cracked and a blue glow lit up the area a bit.
Naruto was already in front of Danzo and slammed his fist into the man's chest before using his left palm to knock him back, simultaneously using his jutsu-shiki to place it on Danzo.
Kakashi opened his eyes—now with his sharingan visible—and watched in disbelief as Danzo disappeared and then, in the blink of an eye, appeared at his side, standing right next to him. Only the Hatake's vast experience allowed him to ignore the space-time jutsu and move his hand, piercing Danzo's chest.
Danzo didn't even know when he moved; he simply felt Kakashi's lightning-wrapped hand pierce his chest and heart before he spat out blood.
"Tsunade, at five, one hundred meters to your right!"
Tsunade turned and watched in surprise as Danzo ran out of the destroyed forest with no apparent injuries. Now, his right arm was exposed, complete with eight sharingan.
Suddenly, a vortex that surprised Naruto shattered Danzo's head.
The blond man looked at Kakashi, remembering something important at that moment.
"It's true... Kakashi-sensei's eye ability... is too similar to the masked man's... Is it...?" Naruto shook his head and jumped towards Kakashi, using a medical technique to recover his chakra in a few seconds, surprising the sharingan wielder.
"Where is it?!" Tsunade asked.
"Five hundred meters to your left, he just appeared!"
"That damn old man, he knows how to hide!" Tsunade jumped, lifting her foot before hitting the ground, watching as Danzo escaped underground with a doton jutsu. But before Tsunade could land the blow to "kill" him once more, Danzo used a kuchiyose no jutsu, summoning
"Baku!" Danzo exclaimed, watching as a huge creature was summoned and ordered to attack.
Baku resembles a gigantic elephantine chimera, very similar to a tapir, with a kind of beard, tiger-like limbs, and bandages wrapped around his head and a guard at the beginning of his trunk.
His fur is orange except for his beard and legs, which are a lighter orange. He has two large fangs in his lower jaw.
Naruto frowned and formed his own hand seals, summoning Gamabunta. A huge cloud of smoke formed before revealing the enormous toad smoking.
"What's wrong, brat?!"
"Boss, I need you to fight with that summon!"
"Oh?!" Gamabunta looked at Baku before nodding. The enormous toad leaped as he drew his sword and slashed forward, pushing Danzo's summon away as Tsunade slammed the war falcon's torso, causing it to explode into flesh and blood. But the man vanished again like an illusion as another of the Sharingan on his right arm closed in.
BOOOOM!
Suddenly, a thunderous sound reverberated through the area as the wooden dragon's head emerged with Danzo in its mouth, absorbing the traitor's chakra. Tsunade raised an eyebrow and looked behind her, noticing how the wooden dragon's tail was still visible near Naruto and Kakashi.
"This is getting annoying," Naruto grunted as he watched Danzo disappear again like a mirage.
"You're right," Kakashi slowly stood up from his previous kneeling position. "And thanks... I'm a little better."
"No problem, but we have to keep fighting," Naruto descended and drew his Tantou as he ran toward Danzo, who reappeared while making hand seals and sending a massive torrent of wind toward him.
"Idiot! Looks like you're really desperate to escape!" Naruto shouted as he formed two seals with his left hand before exhaling a massive torrent of fire that engulfed the wind and increased its size and heat. The ground scorched, and the remaining trees caught fire as they slowly turned to ash.
Danzo smiled toothily as his chest revealed a black seal. Danzo understood that he had no way to escape; no matter how he tried, he would end up dying. Even with the remaining uses of Izanagi he still had left. So, he decided to use his suicidal sealing technique.
But Naruto simply snorted as he commanded the wooden dragon to devour Danzo, absorbing his chakra. And yet, Danzo still chose to continue fighting by using Izanagi once more.
Kakashi followed Naruto alongside Tsunade. They didn't let Danzo escape and continued killing the man until only a lifeless corpse remained on the ground.
Shimura Danzo was no longer moving and was bleeding, with a puncture wound in his torso, his arms in strange directions, and a cut on his neck.
"Now... Who's going to explain this to the old man?" Naruto asked, sighing.
"What?" Tsunade looked at him in bewilderment.
"Come on, even though I admire the old man and appreciate him, I recognize that he's aged both mentally and emotionally. Do you think I would have let Danzo have such freedom in the past?"
"No..." Tsunade sighed. "Sensei was quite strict in the past, you're right about that."
"By the way... the man who released Kyuubi from my mother... he was the one who released Sasuke. I managed to kill him, and a clone has his body in Konoha. Apparently, he was part of the Akatsuki and had a Mangekyou with abilities similar to Kakashi-sensei's."
"What?!" the two more experienced shinobi exclaimed in shock.
"Oh... and Sasuke was just taken to Tsunade Obaa-chan's office. He just dissipated and left him with the first clone."
"Kakashi, take Danzo's dead body! We're going back to Konoha to find out more about all this shit!" Tsunade growled as she ran off.
"She forgot me to use Hiraishin, didn't she?" Naruto asked Kakashi.
"Yes..." Kakashi smiled with his eye as he took Danzo's body and looked at Naruto.
"Please..." Naruto nodded before taking Kakashi's shoulder and appearing next to his clone in Tsunade's office.
"So... do you know about your parents?"
Naruto nodded, "Though it's still a little hard to swallow that my father was the Fourth Hokage."
Kakashi nodded before sighing a little, "If it tells you anything, I'm sorry. I couldn't really tell you anything; the Sandaime forbade it."
"Don't worry, now that I know who they were, it doesn't matter too much to me." Naruto shook his hand and looked at Sasuke.
"Why does she have a seal over her mouth?" he asked his clone.
"She was becoming a little bitch screaming so much."
Suddenly, the door opened, and Hiruzen walked in as he spoke.
"Tsunade, I need you to..." The older man saw two dead men on the ground with Naruto and Kakashi standing over him. Sasuke was tied up with shinobi wire and his mouth covered with a seal on the ground as he glared at Kakashi and Naruto.
In short, it was a strange situation.
"It's not what you think," Naruto said with a wry smile.
