Chapter 175: Slap After Slap
Blinding golden lightning branched out like jagged limbs, tearing through the sky in an instant.
The apocalyptic scene was nothing short of awe-inspiring.
"This is divine punishment… No wonder the ancients thought he was a god. Honestly, I'm starting to think the same."
Dr. Serizawa chuckled at himself, eyes locked onto the screen.
With divine retribution descending like this, how could humanity possibly resist?
RUMBLE—
The majestic thunder connected heaven and earth, shaking the world as if the sky itself was collapsing.
Chains of lightning crackled and wove together, lingering rather than vanishing in a flash. The dark clouds, heavy and oppressive, churned with impending destruction. Yet, in the very heart of this thunderous storm, Chang Wei stood unmoving. His demonic wings remained still, yet they held him aloft within the electrified maelstrom.
Above him, thunder rolled endlessly. Below, winds howled and waves surged, massive vortices forming in both the clouds and the ocean.
He gazed downward at Rodan. This scene, this backdrop—if any artist saw this, they'd be struck by inspiration and instantly create a masterpiece titled Divine Punishment!
The energy readings were off the charts… but ninety-nine percent of it was wasted effort, because all of it merely served as Chang Wei's dramatic backdrop.
Of course, humanity didn't know that.
To them, it looked as if Chang Wei had effortlessly conjured this apocalyptic display.
Scientists, in particular, speculated that he might possess abilities beyond human comprehension—what they called "divine power."
This force defied logic, allowing him to control water and lightning with unknown principles.
As for the current magnetic field fluctuations? Well, wasn't that obvious? With so much lightning in the area, of course the magnetic field would be going wild.
Amidst this cataclysmic display, Rodan trembled violently. Opportunistic by nature, it thrived when the winds favored it but faltered when they turned against it.
And then, before the watchful eyes of humanity, Rodan let out a pitiful cry and lowered its head toward Chang Wei.
The meaning of this gesture required no words—any intelligent being could see it was an act of submission.
The so-called Titan Behemoth that humanity couldn't handle had just bowed its head in surrender.
Even the most diehard kaiju enthusiasts among humanity had mixed feelings about this.
Dr. Emma Russell, who had released the Titans in hopes of "cleansing" humanity, and Jonah Alan, the leader of the radical eco-terrorists who aided her, both witnessed this moment.
Hacking firewalls and hijacking satellite feeds? For top-tier scientists, that was trivial—just basic operations.
The real issue now was that their highly anticipated Titan Behemoth had failed.
"How… How could this happen? Why did this guy suddenly appear?"
Jonah Alan, the leader of these extreme environmentalists—or rather, eco-terrorists—refused to accept this outcome.
To fund his cause and recruit like-minded followers, he had resorted to any means necessary, including smuggling and selling Titan DNA.
There were indeed some truly insane individuals among humanity.
Even though the newly released Monster Zero was terrifying beyond measure, Jonah had been satisfied.
But now?
Their mighty Titan had been utterly crushed by this unknown being—something that looked like a demon but exuded the presence of a god. Worse still, the Titan had submitted in hopes of sparing its own life.
How humiliating. Jonah was livid.
Dr. Emma Russell's emotions were even more complicated.
She had always believed she could control the Titans with the Orca System—a device that emitted a hybrid frequency of Godzilla's roar and human speech, fooling Titans into believing it was the call of a new alpha.
"Obey me and stay in line!"
But this wasn't true control—it was just issuing commands. Repeat them too often, and they'd lose their effect, especially when the other Titans had never actually seen this so-called new king.
And now, things had spiraled out of control.
A "god" had appeared.
No matter how grotesque its form, no matter how much it resembled a demon, its sheer presence made it undeniable.
Dr. Russell tried to rationalize this scientifically, only to be slapped in the face by reality—just like Dr. Serizawa and the other researchers.
With Titans, humanity at least had theories. They believed that by studying their genetics and biology, they might someday surpass them.
But this "god"...
Its abilities defied understanding. No matter how hard humanity tried, they couldn't even begin to grasp how to counter or surpass such a being.
"It's fine," Emma said coldly. "It's just one 'god.' We'll keep releasing more Titans. If he were truly invincible, the entire Earth wouldn't be filled with Titans while only a single 'god' has appeared until now."
She refused to acknowledge him as a deity, even if she couldn't understand his power.
More than that—she hated the very idea of a god.
During the Battle of San Francisco five years ago, she had prayed to a god.
But no god answered.
And her son died.
That was why Emma Russell had become an extreme anti-humanitarian.
Though, in Chang Wei's eyes, it seemed more like she simply wanted the world to share her grief—her pain of losing a child.
But now that it was her daughter's life at risk, she suddenly couldn't accept it anymore. The survival of humanity paled in comparison to the survival of her daughter.
So where had this "god" been back then?
That was why, without hesitation, she devised a new plan: unleash every Titan possible and let them swarm and slay this "god."
If the Titans could kill a god, then the plan could proceed as intended.
After all, the Titans awakened by Ghidorah were only a fraction of the true number. The classified records of Monarch contained countless more Titans that neither Ghidorah nor Godzilla had awakened yet.
Emma believed the number of released Titans so far wasn't enough.
She needed more.
Jonah Alan considered her idea, then nodded in agreement.
Meanwhile, after subduing Rodan, Chang Wei released his grip.
Rodan's eyes flashed with malice—it immediately lunged forward, jaws wide, aiming to bite down on him.
The humans watching were horrified.
If this "god" were really swallowed whole, could he pull a Sun Wukong and tear his way out from the inside?
Sun Wukong: "That was the peacock, not me!"
BANG!
Chang Wei casually slapped Rodan across the face, knocking its beak sideways.
"Unbelievable!"
Humanity gaped in astonishment.
In their awe of his storm-forged divine punishment, they had momentarily forgotten how Chang Wei had first handled Rodan—with a brutal over-the-shoulder throw.
Realizing that mere intimidation wouldn't be enough, Chang Wei decided to teach this mutt a proper lesson.
Grabbing Rodan by the horns with one hand, he used the other to repeatedly slap its face.
His immense telekinetic force accompanied each blow, turning every slap into a strike carrying millions of tons of force.
Rodan's vision blurred.
The world spun.
Slap after slap, Chang Wei ensured that the lesson would be carved deep into its bones.
