Chapter 55 - Extra 3: Correspondence (1)

After her vivid dream about Maio, while she was in a coma due to the poisonous bite of the Lynx of Chaos and End, Sete couldn't stop thinking about the young god.

After all, since they had awakened — and except for the moments when they had to fulfill their duties as Seasons — they hadn't been apart for so long. Now, perhaps because she had accumulated a certain amount of divinity, she could remember some of their endless conversations, the laughter they shared, the looks through which they easily understood each other, and even the comfortable silence that surrounded them when they sneaked off to spy on Dez or Juno's work.

Her memories intensified as Sete worked almost robotically on creating two orchards for the refuge. She had purchased a series of fruit tree seeds through the Seed Shop, which Dez and the heirs had helped her choose.

The reason for dividing these crops into two different orchards was simply to better organize the harvests: one was intended for planting tropical and citrus fruits, while the other would be geared toward producing more sensitive fruits from temperate climates.

Thus, in an area to the left of the refuge, the heirs prepared a significant portion of land to house apple, pear, plum, peach, and fig trees; while on the right, parallel to the Temperate Orchard, they prepared the same amount of land to plant lemon, orange, tangerine, mango, and banana trees — this would be the Tropical Orchard.

Of course, there would be room to grow even more fruit in the future, but Sete had only unlocked these seeds so far. She had recently reached level 4 in Agriculture, which is why she was able to expand the seed store in this way. Soon, she would probably reach the next levels of the skill and be able to plant many other plants for consumption.

— Sete! — Hiroshi called to her, clapping his hands together to remove the excess soil accumulated in his palms. — We're done here, you can use your powers to germinate the seeds now.

— Great. Step back. — Spring commanded as she extended her arms to release a gentle wave of green aura over the entire Temperate Orchard area. At that moment, those who had helped her cultivate the fruit seeds left the marked area so as not to be hit by the branches that would grow in seconds.

As usual, those who volunteered to help the young deity watched from a distance as the plants sprouted from the fertile soil like young green seedlings, whose status changed to fruit trees full of flowers and fresh fruit in a matter of seconds. The new faces that arrived with Dez admired this in wonder, the only thing that crossed their minds was how it seemed that spring had truly manifested itself in those plants.

— Let's harvest the ripest fruits. — Hiroshi commented, already mobilizing the other heirs in an organized manner and handing them bags.

Sete nodded distractedly, accepting one of the man's bags and heading for the fig tree furthest from the orchard. In any case, she really needed to take a break before using her powers again in the Tropical Orchard.

That particular tree had grown a little taller than the others, and perhaps the girl knew the reason behind it.

It may not seem so obvious to inexperienced eyes, but figs are not fruits. In fact, they are crypts of flowers, whose red interior remains hidden throughout pollination. Sete liked this plant, and so did Maio...
