"Snor~" Snorlax looked at Eddie and called out in a rather dopey manner, indicating that it understood it had been captured.
"Good that you understand the situation. I won't complain about you resting constantly today, but if you dare to sleep through battles in the future, I'll cut off your food supply. You won't get anything to eat for a week!" Eddie threatened menacingly, attempting to use food as leverage against Snorlax.
"Snor? Snor!" Snorlax was initially stunned, then bellowed loudly in protest.
Its entire expression became distressed, as if scolding Eddie for such extremely inhumane - or rather, extremely un-Pokemon-like - behavior.
"Your protests are useless. If you don't battle properly, don't expect to enjoy delicious food like today's. You can decide for yourself," Eddie declared, ignoring the complaints.
He hadn't captured Snorlax to pamper it like royalty.
If Snorlax insisted on avoiding battles, Eddie would simply send it back to Professor Oak directly.
It certainly wouldn't starve there, but it definitely wouldn't receive the generous portions of gourmet food prepared for it like today.
"Snor? Snor~~~" Snorlax ultimately couldn't resist the allure of delicious cuisine and nodded directly to show its understanding.
It promised Eddie that it would wake up when needed for battles, but the price was preparing such delicious food for it daily.
"Only you would actually negotiate with your trainer before agreeing to battle commands," Eddie grumbled, though he was quite satisfied with today's negotiation results.
There weren't many Pokemon who would bargain with their trainers like this. Such Pokemon were certainly a unique feature of the Pokemon world, weren't they?
"Alright, that settles things with Snorlax. Now it's time for the happy inventory session," Eddie said, settling into a reclining chair and opening his item list to review the day's considerable gains.
Dragon Fang, TM Blast Burn, Gold Bottle Cap x2, Gengarite Mega Evolution Stone, Black Glasses, Silver Crown x3, Soft Sand, Hard Stone, Silk Scarf
"Three completed quests with truly abundant rewards, especially the held items - I obtained quite a collection today," Eddie observed with satisfaction.
He didn't need TMs immediately, but he definitely wanted these items that could enhance move power.
"Also, I never expected to obtain this Fire-type ultimate move in TM form. This is genuinely beyond my expectations," Eddie remarked, examining the single TM from this batch.
Blast Burn was classified as the ultimate Fire-type move. Excluding certain legendary Pokemon's signature moves, it was the strongest Fire-type attack in the truest sense.
Moreover, this move could only be learned by visiting specific locations and requesting instruction from specialized ultimate move tutors.
Most importantly, this technique could only be mastered by the final evolutionary forms of Fire-type starter Pokemon.
In other words, only Charizard, Typhlosion, Blaziken, Infernape, Emboar, Delphox, and Incineroar could learn this skill.
Ultimate moves in similar categories included the Water-type Hydro Cannon and Grass-type Frenzy Plant.
These two moves could also only be learned by the final evolutions of their corresponding starter types.
Of course, there was also the Electric-type ultimate move Volt Tackle, exclusive to the Pikachu family! This move was previously known as High Voltage Thunder Shock.
"Originally, this technique could only be learned by seeking out move tutors, but now it's come to me in TM form. This saves me from traveling to the Sevii Islands for instruction," Eddie mused.
"After all, this move can be used immediately upon learning, with no strength requirements. It just has some side effects after use, but these side effects are much milder than Z-Moves. It's definitely worthwhile."
Eddie retrieved the TM, considered his options, then brought out a collection of TMs and distributed them to his Pokemon.
Incidentally, Haunter had evolved into Gengar by now. During his rest period after dealing with Team Rocket, Eddie had contacted Professor Oak and arranged a trade exchange, allowing Haunter to evolve into Gengar.
"Ding! Charizard learned Blast Burn and Fire Punch!"
"Ding! Greninja and Lucario learned Ice Punch!"
"Ding! Gengar learned Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Hyper Beam, Giga Drain, and Thunderbolt!"
"Ding! Snorlax learned Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Hyper Beam, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Earthquake, Solar Beam, Hydro Pump, Water Pulse, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Protect, and Focus Blast!"
"You don't realize until you see it - this is truly shocking. I forgot that Snorlax can learn so many different moves. Capturing it was definitely worthwhile. Such a versatile Snorlax can certainly surprise enemies," Eddie observed Snorlax's extensive move list with great satisfaction.
Fire, Electric, and Ice-type punches, Ground-type, Fighting-type, Water-type, and Grass-type moves - all learnable.
Such a diverse movepool was sufficient for handling most situations. Eddie felt extremely pleased with his decision to capture Snorlax at any cost.
"Alright, the TMs are distributed. Now it's time to assign held items."
Dragon Fang, Black Glasses, Soft Sand, Hard Stone, Silk Scarf.
"Dragon-type, Dark-type, Ground-type, Rock-type, and Normal-type enhancement items - all useful," Eddie noted with extreme satisfaction, then gestured broadly and distributed the items to appropriate Pokemon.
