The magic travels through the dark water in widening waves, searching for anything large enough to catch her attention. Before, finding a sea monster could take time because the ocean was too vast and there were too many things moving beneath the surface, but her magic has grown stronger since then.
Now, a creature as enormous as a kraken is almost impossible for her to hide from, and she can follow its movement long before it comes close enough for anyone else to notice.
