"I'm coming." Ivan says it the moment he learns that Sienna-Rose is going hunting for a kraken.
Claire and Haley stare at him in disbelief. It feels like only yesterday that Ivan first walked into their household as a twelve-year-old boy, but almost three years have passed since then.
He's nearly fifteen now, and the change is impossible to miss. He's already taller than most of them, his body strengthened by years of sword training, and his body is starting to get bigger from the sword training with Duke Gallahan and his son.
"You're still a child," Claire says, completely disagreeing.
"It would be dangerous," Haley adds, her expression making it clear that she doesn't intend to let him come easily.
"Oh, let the boy go," Sophia says. "I was fine when we fought the Keldros, he's going with our wife, and Ivan can hold a sword better than most boys his age."
