Silence settled back over the room following Lucian's last question. Both of them — he and June — simply stared at each other, blinking slowly. Hearing Lucian's question, the creature narrowed his eyes slightly, one eyebrow twitching in confusion, the corner of his mouth lifting at the same time. Inside, he found himself wondering — why was this human asking him that, when he was the one who'd brought it up in the first place?
Meanwhile, Lucian was equally puzzled by June's sudden remark. His expression mirrored exactly what June had just shown. In his mind, why had this creature suddenly brought Cedric's name into their conversation right now? After all, nearly everyone within the Empire already knew that Queen Evelynine had performed the summoning magic that had brought the otherworldly knight — none other than Cedric — into this world.
What he was asking about right now was the strange condition affecting himself. That was all!
