Chantelle had dressed properly to show respect for the interview. When the guard first saw her, he was polite and even a little stunned by her appearance. But now he was rude and impatient.
She was certain Easton had said something to him.
She could accept that Easton was acting distant because he thought she and Daniel had divorced. But that didn't mean he had the right to toy with her over it.
She had already decided that she would meet with Easton today.
Kane wanted to teach the security guard a lesson for being rude, but Chantelle stopped him. She didn't want the children drawing attention to their abilities.
However, the guard misunderstood and thought she was scared. He stepped forward and pushed her. Chantelle's expression darkened. She grabbed his wrist, and he let out a sharp cry of pain.
