Chantelle then turned to Railer. His ears turned slightly red, and he whispered, "My phone is broken. It has a blue screen now."
He showed her his phone as he spoke.
It really did have a blue screen. But from the expressions on the children's faces, Chantelle realized they were doing this on purpose. They wanted her to call Daniel.
"Mrs. Wilson, I… lost my phone!" the driver blurted out, then quickly rolled down the window and tossed his phone outside right in front of her.
Chantelle sighed in defeat. With the three children staring at her enthusiastically, she finally dialed Daniel's number.
Daniel had been staring at his phone ever since she hung up on him. When he saw her name appear on the screen, his heart started to throb.
He was trying to figure out how to explain the incident to her, so he didn't answer the phone right away.
