Chapter 187 - Chapter 187: Enma Zankōken

"A group of weak monsters dares to act so arrogantly?" Lance mocked calmly, not even attempting to evade.

Lance activated the Golden Light Incantation at full power. The spell enveloped Lance's body in dazzling golden light, and then he charged forward—against the storm of purple whips.

The Golden Dagger trembled in Lance's hand, producing a sharp sound like silver bells. In just a few breaths, hundreds of blood-red blades swept across the battlefield, like a storm of swords twisting and sweeping everything away.

One by one, the ghosts shattered— their flesh and souls unraveled by the holy power of light.

However, this parade was like a river without a source. As one wave was annihilated, a new wave emerged from behind the mist.

The ghosts danced in chaos, evil spirits soaring into the sky like hellfire, creating an endless symphony of horror.

Lance sighed, narrowing his eyes.

"You think you're the only one who can summon allies? My companions are stronger," Lance murmured.

Lance raised his hand high and then whistled long.

Only two breaths later, the dim space began to tremble violently.

With the heavy thud of its hooves echoing like the drums of a heavenly war, Raigō, the mighty steed, broke through the layers of space, emerging from a crack in the dimension into this narrow battlefield. Each stomp of its hooves split the air, striking the ground until it cracked, crushing several unfortunate small ghosts beneath it.

The sound of the stomps was not just a thud—it was a wave of resonance that spread like living magic, amplifying the power of its master and allies. An aura of courage spread with its booming, like the spirit of a war god descending from the heavens.

Brynhildr was also present in this battle.

Unlike Raigō, Brynhildr could not breach the interdimensional space on her own. As she rode on Raigō's back, her figure towered like a female knight in gleaming silver mechanical armor. However, after being infused with Raigō's empowering aura, Brynhildr's body began to change.

The sound of metal creaking and intertwining was heard as Brynhildr's mechanical body drastically enlarged—becoming a giant seven to eight meters tall. It was no longer possible for Brynhildr to ride Raigō, and with a heavy leap, she descended to the ground, creating a thud like a small explosion.

Brynhildr was now a war giant. Her armor gleamed, reflecting fire and blood, and in her hand, she wielded a massive war axe that blazed with a dazzling red, as if forged from hellfire lava.

Wherever Brynhildr struck the axe into the midst of the monster crowd, it was like a falling meteor tearing through the earth. An explosion of energy struck dozens of monsters, sending their bodies flying in all directions, body parts scattering like leaves in a storm.

"Very good, Hildr!" Lance shouted as he turned, leaping onto Raigō's back with graceful agility.

The Golden Dagger in Lance's hand trembled, then transformed into Enma Zankōken, a heavenly sword manifesting from Raigō's own power. Lightning flashed as Raigō lifted Lance's body, releasing a thunderous roar, and charged like a storm.

The swing of the Enma Zankōken produced an uncountable series of sword lights, like a storm of spinning blades sweeping clean the bloodied streets amidst the group of monsters. From one end to the other, everything was devoured in an instant.

But a new wave of monsters soon arrived, wilder and more ferocious. Their eyes glowed red, their breath foul like rotting flesh decaying in a swamp.

"The fox... let's see how many ghosts you can summon!" Lance glanced at the main enemy, then bent down and whispered commands to Raigō.

Raigō lifted his body and shot forward. In just a few breaths, Lance had slashed a path through the sea of spectral creatures.

This was not just a battle—it was a gold mine.

Although most of the ghosts were weak, each held value. Some were worth only a few dozen points, but many reached into the hundreds.

After just a few rounds of slaughter, Lance's points soared past five thousand. Unfortunately, the more he killed, the less value remained. It was like sucking blood from a dry sponge—not profitable anymore.

However, as long as there were still supplies, Lance would continue to slash. Monsters were money.

Unfortunately, the female fox—the summoner behind the scenes—turned out to be not as strong as expected.

As the ghost army was wiped out for the third time, the woman finally took matters into her own hands. Black mist rolled down from the sky, like a storm swallowing the light. The figure of the woman emerged from the darkness—slender, sleek, Brynhildr's eyes glowing red. The fox woman wielded the legendary sword: Kusanagi, and lunged to behead Lance.

Ding!

The clash of metal was deafening. The Kusanagi sword bounced back, and the fox was knocked back with a look of shock on her face. Lance grinned, transforming his sword back into its original form: the Golden Dagger.

Where Lance surged forward.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

The red light of Lance's sword and the pale flash of Kusanagi collided in a rain of sparks that burned the air. Each clash triggered explosive shockwaves that sent the surrounding creatures flying like broken dolls, then trampled mercilessly by Raigō and Brynhildr.

"Little fox," Lance taunted, his voice sharp and full of arrogance. "Your Kusanagi sword is no match for my Golden Dagger."

The space, once dark, began to glow orange-red, like dawn tearing through the night's curtain.

Lance raised his sword high. Blinding light erupted from the tip of the blade. One slash. Two. Three. Up to nine times. Each slash merged, forming a massive sword beam, like a meteor shower streaking from the sky, slicing through the darkness of the ghostly realm.

Explosion!

The final clash came. The sword light struck Kusanagi directly. The legendary sword vibrated violently, and in an instant, it was pushed back, until finally, Lance's blade slashed the white shoulder of the fox woman.

The woman stared at the wound in disbelief. The holy light containing the essence of purification gnawed at her body, making her scream piercingly like a night wolf.
