Chapter 146 - Chapter 146: You drive

Carter, who was shameless, immediately interjected loudly, "Hey, don't leave me here! I have to help save Soo Yung too!" With a quick motion, Carter moved closer, his cheerful face and bright white teeth contrasting sharply with his dark skin. Carter's strong, dark fingers gripped the car keys, "Besides, you need me to drive!"

Lance touched his chin while smiling faintly, "I can drive the Audi R8 parked out front."

Carter paused for a moment but quickly responded with excitement, "I know where Soo Yung was kidnapped. From there, we can track her more easily, right?"

Lance shrugged casually, "You're right. You drive."

"Yes!" Carter exclaimed, his usually cheerful face suddenly turning serious. He looked at Consul Han with a confident gaze, "Consul Han, don't worry. We will definitely find Soo Yung! Oh, and don't forget to send me a thank-you note, okay?"

"Stop talking nonsense!" Lee could no longer tolerate Carter's jokes and immediately dragged him out of the car. "Let's go!"

Lance just smiled slightly, then picked up a small teddy bear that was lying on the seat and followed Lee outside.

The All-Seeing Tracking magic couldn't remain open continuously. Lance had to use his powers to track their location, so he needed to take the teddy bear with him on the journey.

Soo Yung was kidnapped on her way to school. The kidnappers, disguised as traffic police, directed the guards escorting Soo Yung to stop on a quiet road. They blocked the road with several cars, killed two guards, and then took Soo Yung away.

Carter, although initially only asked to accompany Lee, ended up getting caught up in the kidnapping case. However, thanks to Carter's keen attention to detail, he began to study the case carefully. Carter recognized every key point at the crime scene.

The three men drove toward the kidnapping location, and from there, they followed a fading purple light trail, as if guiding them forward.

However, their journey did not go smoothly.

The winding roads and narrow alleys were filled with swaying purple grass, forcing them to turn continuously. Without the help of car navigation, they almost got lost.

After more than an hour of wandering, the sky began to darken. Carter couldn't hold back his complaint, "Hey, guys, what's up with your magic? We've been circling for over ten times, but haven't found anything..."

Lance looked out the window, his expression lazy, not intending to respond.

Lee, who was more focused, spoke seriously, "No, I'm sure we're on the right track. After the kidnappers took Soo Yung, they must have circled around before finally returning to their hideout."

Carter scoffed, half in disbelief, "Okay, okay... But if we keep going like this, the car's gas might run out. Is there a gas station around here?"

Lee looked up, suddenly patting Carter on the shoulder and pointing ahead. "Look! Is that purple light stopping?"

Carter immediately hit the brakes, observing more closely and surprised, "Is that a Chinese restaurant? Are the kidnappers hiding in a restaurant? Something's off with the magic..."

"Why can't the kidnappers hide in a restaurant?" Lance stared at Carter with a blank expression, then firmly opened the car door and got out without saying much.

Lee hurriedly followed Lance, who was already striding down, his eyes scanning around the restaurant. "Do you think Soo Yung is here?" Lee asked, his voice filled with tension.

"Of course." Lance looked up at the second floor with a calm expression. "Soo Yung's biomagnetic field is very strong. If Soo Yung is really here, she must be on the second floor of the restaurant."

The restaurant was located in Chinatown, Los Angeles, an area that was never quiet with the hustle and bustle of life. There were no tall buildings here; most of the structures were five or six-story residential buildings, reminiscent of neighborhoods in China. Shops on the first and second floors faced the street, while living spaces were on the upper floors. The atmosphere was filled with a timeless charm.

Lee nodded and quickly spoke, "Let's go up from the outside."

"There's a door, why do we have to climb through a window?" Lance looked at Lee in confusion, as if he didn't understand the urgency. Without taking his eyes off Lee, he walked straight toward the restaurant door.

"Aren't you afraid that might alert the snake?" Lee pressed, his steps quick to follow.

Lance paused for a moment and replied without turning, "There aren't many people inside. If there is a snake on alert, we can handle it."

Lee frowned. "How do you know there aren't many people?"

"Feeling," Lance replied as he confidently pushed the restaurant door open. As soon as the door opened, a female receptionist dressed in a cheongsam smiled and greeted them in Mandarin. "Welcome, you two?"

Before Lance could respond, Carter, who suddenly appeared from behind, interjected firmly, "NO, three!"

"Oh, please sit here," the receptionist said, still smiling warmly.

"No need," Lance replied as he jumped past the receptionist and ran up the stairs to the second floor.

However, the receptionist quickly blocked Lance's path, still smiling but her voice sounded firm, "Sorry, the upstairs is not a dining area; only restaurant staff are allowed to enter."

Lance looked at Carter, his eyes seeming to urge him to do something. Carter grinned, then asked while pretending to be confused, "What do you see from me?"

Lance paused for a moment before finally answering casually, "Your police badge."

"Huh? Oh!" Carter just realized, and without hesitation, he lifted his clothing to show his identification, shouting loudly, "LAPD! We suspect there are dangerous individuals hiding here; we need to search this place now!"

The receptionist nodded, "Sorry, we need to inform our boss."

Lance merely glanced briefly, then shrugged. "I don't think that's necessary." Without further ado, Lance lightly pushed the receptionist aside and stepped forward, climbing the stairs with his gun still firmly in hand.

Their movement attracted the attention of several people around, and soon a man in a light blue suit appeared from behind the stairs.
