"Kisaki threatened Yuki to work with him?" Baji calmly asks as he plays on a small game system.
"Yeah." Chifuyu sighs as he begins to unbutton his shirt. You lean back against the wall and sigh.
"I figured that would happen..." Baji sighs as he places his game down and slowly tries to stand up. Chifuyu quickly moves towards Baji trying to help him. Baji smacks Chifuyu's hand away which makes Chifuyu stand stiffly, staring at Baji.
"What do you mean you figured that would happen?" You ask, slowly raising an eyebrow. Baji slowly looks at you and sighs as he stretches.
"Kisaki didn't help you for no reason. All the shit I've seen him do- I'm sure it's not coincidental-" Baji says in a subtle confident tone.
"Eh?" Chifuyu looks at Baji confused.
"You sound like one of those stereotypical detectives..." You say sighing a bit. Baji groans and relaxes his body.
"My mother makes me watch those detective comedy shows with her... along with those stupid reality shows that are supposed to be funny- I really want to go outside... I'm starting to lose my mind." Baji sighs and quickly looks at you and then smiles. "So, I'm going to come with you." He bubbles.
"HUH?" Both you and Chifuyu say in shock.
"Wait wait- Isn't that a bad idea?" Chifuyu quickly says. "You haven't recovered fully- and Kisaki tried to get you killed... You-"
"You talk a lot..." Baji bluntly says, interrupting Chifuyu. Chifuyu goes quiet. Baji smiles at him and rests his hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry- I'll be fine."
"Baji-" You softly say. Baji slowly looks at you causing you to take a deep breath. "I agree with Chifuyu... it would be a bad idea if you went out and tried anything... you can barely stand long and you struggle to walk up and down stairs... you struggle to walk in general... what makes you think it will be smart for you to fight or get yourself involved in anything?" You imply.
"Exactly..." Chifuyu calmly says, nodding. Baji stares at both you and Chifuyu before relaxing his eyes. He sits back down on his bed and takes a deep breath. He ties his hair back and adjusts his shirt.
"You know- Draken lost contact with me not long ago..." Baji calmly says.
"Huh? Was it because of what we did?" Chifuyu asked.
"Yeah... Mikey and Draken were both upset that I defied them... so Draken cut me off..." He takes a deep breath and leans back a bit. "You both will be getting yourself involved in something that's not only going against Toman... but you both are considered traitors... Hear how bad that sounds?"
"Yeah." Chifuyu softly says, slowly nodding.
"But still... Hakkai-" You start.
"I get it... but it's not worth it..." He sighs. "Deep down I feel like it's just another set up..."
"Maybe it is... but we should still try." Chifuyu suggests.
"Mhm... Hakkai admitted to wanting to kill his brother- we have to do something at least... right?" You softly say. Baji slowly looks at you and then sighs, smiling a bit. He slowly stands up and slowly makes his way to his closet. He opens it and goes through something in his box. He pulls out a bracelet, handing it to you. You tilt your head in confusion.
"What is that?" You ask feeling confused.
"Happy birthday."
"Huh!" You look at him confused.
"AH ITS HER BIRTHDAY!?" Chifuyu shouts in a panicked tone. "But... I thought her birthday was on the twentieth..."
"It is..." You slowly say.
"Yeah I know..." Baji says slowly standing up. "You both will be with Kisaki for a bit... I won't be able to see you both for a while... plus- my mom wanted to go somewhere for Christmas... so I won't be here for a few days..."
"Eh? Why did you suggest going then?" Chifuyu questioned.
"To make an excuse to not go with her... I love her but I can't stand it anymore." He sighs, rubbing the back of his head. "But it's whatever... I did almost die- so I get why she's so clingy..." He slowly looks at you and then relaxes his eyes. "I wish someone else was just as clingy..." He softly says. You furrow your eyebrows slightly and look down at the bracelet. It had a cat paw charm on it. You slowly place it on your wrist and smile a bit.
"It's cute." You softly say. Baji slightly smiles.
"I have a matching one... but it's a charm for my motorcycle instead... I thought we could match." He smiles. You smile and nod.
"So then... we work with Kisaki... and save Hakkai..." Chifuyu says nodding and looking towards Baji. Baji nods.
"Kisaki is up to something- knowing him. So don't get yourself in trouble... Also- try to dig some shit up on him... when you do, then tell me..."
"Okay." Both you and Chifuyu say nodding.
After leaving Baji's house, you both slowly make your way down a sidewalk. Chifuyu pulls his phone out, staring at it and sighing a bit.
"What's wrong?" You softly say, looking at him. He slowly looks up at you and slightly smiles.
"I'm worried."
"About?"
"I'm worried we are walking into something we won't be able to get ourselves out of... Like this will only get worse."
"Huh? What do you mean?" You say, tilting your head a bit. Chifuyu stops walking causing you to stop walking.
"I'm happy Baji is alive... but- even though he is... I feel like us getting involved with Toman is only going to cause us more problems."
You furrow your eyebrows a bit and slowly look down. Chifuyu walks closer to you causing you to quickly look up at him.
"I feel like... if the three of us just left everything behind us and moved on from it- we would be at peace... maybe." He softly says.
"Yeah..." You softly say nodding. "I'm sorry... I feel like this is my fault... because I'm the reason why we keep getting ourselves involved in troublesome situations." You say sadly. You slowly look up at Chifuyu who is staring you in the eyes.
"Yeah... you care about everyone a lot." Chifuyu awkwardly chuckles as he rubs the back of his neck. "But... that's okay- cause I'm like that in a way... for those I care about- you know?"
You slowly nod.
"I'm only putting up with this because..." He pauses for a bit and then turns away and shakes his head. "We should go meet up with Kisaki..."
"Chifuyu..." You slowly say. Chifuyu stops walking and slowly looks at you. "What were you going to say?"
"I can't say it..."
"Why?"
"Cause- it's disrespectful... to Baji-san." He calmly says. You tilt your head in confusion.
"What do you mean?"
Chifuyu takes a deep breath and sighs a bit. "You don't see it, do you? I know I'm bad at romantic things but... you seem oblivious..." He chuckles. "Baji-san likes you..."
"..." You stare at Chifuyu a bit before furrowing your eyebrows a bit. "You like me too?" You softly ask. Chifuyu's eyes widen and he quickly looks away.
"I never said that." He blushes. You smile and lean towards him, causing him to look back at you.
"Come on... partner... you can't keep secrets from me..." You softly bubble. Chifuyu stares you in the eyes a bit before kissing you on the lips. Your eyes widen from the kiss. He pulls away from you a bit and sighs.
"I've wanted you the day I saw you... but- everyone else does too... So, I never tried to tell you..." Chifuyu softly says. You stare at him in shock for a bit.
"Everyone?"
"Mikey... Baji-san... Mitsuya... probably others too... who knows- either way... It's not just me who likes you. I have no chance so what's the point." He awkwardly chuckles.
"You don't know that..." You calmly say. Chifuyu stares at you before relaxing his eyes and softly smiling.
"Let's go..." He says holding his hand out. You slowly nod and take his hand.
You both walk up some steps to see Kisaki and Hanma leaning against a railing. Kisaki stands up straight when he sees you both. He smiles when his eyes meet yours.
"So... are we doing this... or no?" He says, smiling sadistically. Chifuyu furrows his eyebrows and takes a deep breath.
"We are only agreeing to do this... to help with Hakkai..." Chifuyu states.
"Right..." Kisaki says slightly nodding and still smiling. He holds his hand out waiting for Chifuyu to shake his hand. Chifuyu lets go of your hand and slowly approaches Kisaki.
"Betray us and I will kill you." Chifuyu says in a calm stern tone.
"Likewise..." Hanma bubbles, leaning his head back and smiling at Chifuyu. Kisaki chuckles quietly with his eyes closed then opens them, looking at Chifuyu, and shaking his hand a bit, waiting for Chifuyu to shake it.
"Do we have a deal...?" He asks.
Chifuyu softly sighs and closes his eyes and then grabs Kisaki's hand.
"We have a deal." Chifuyu says shaking Kisaki's hand and staring back at him. Kisaki's smile grows and his eyes slowly drift towards yours. You furrow your eyebrows as his grey eyes stare into yours.
