Beta Zander Perez - POV
"Where is she?" I asked the prison guard, my voice heavy with urgency. The guard quickly rose from his seat, bowing slightly as he met my gaze.
"Last cell, Beta Perez," he replied, his eyes downcast. I could sense the tension in the air as I strode down the dimly lit hallway. The oppressive atmosphere of the prison weighed on me; there weren't many inmates here, just a few rogues who had trespassed on our property. My heart raced as I approached the last cell, a mixture of concern and determination flooding my thoughts.
As I came to a halt in front of the cell, I saw the omega seated on the mattress, her shoulders trembling as silent tears cascaded down her cheeks. My heart ached for her.
"Get up," I commanded, my tone flat but underlying it was an urgency that I hoped she could sense. Her head snapped up, eyes wide and filled with fear. She sprang to her feet and walked toward the bars, her movements trembling.
