Stefan got home just as the evening sun was beginning to fade.
The moment Genevieve heard the sound of his car outside, she hurried to the door and opened it before he could even reach for the handle.
A smile spread across her face when she saw him. "You're finally home."
Stefan barely had time to respond before she wrapped her arms around him and kissed him.
He smiled against her lips and held her close. "I missed you too," he murmured.
Genevieve pulled back, still smiling. "I had a very busy day."
"Did you?" Stefan asked, taking off his jacket.
"Yes."
She took the jacket from him and hung it up.
"I went shopping with Dawn."
Stefan raised an eyebrow. "Shopping? I thought you were only thinking about it earlier?"
"Yes, I was. But Dawn was available, so we decided to get it done today."
"I can see you had fun," Stefan observed.
"I did until Ryan came up in the news and ruined everyone's afternoon."
"Jamal told me."
