That was when Mateo finally understood. Louis had planned everything. He had been confident because he already knew there were no cameras here.
He could act however he wanted, and no one could prove him wrong.
Mateo's body shook with rage. His face burned red, and his voice cracked as he shouted,
"Then fine! If there is no camera, I will install one myself! I will make sure this never happens again!"
The classroom fell silent for a moment. Then, as if on cue, laughter broke out. Students looked at Mateo strangely, their eyes mocking him.
Someone whispered loudly enough for others to hear, "Is he playing judge now? Thief shouting thief."
"Exactly," another laughed. "He is just embarrassing himself even more."
Mateo's teeth ground together so hard they hurt. He wanted to scream, to keep fighting, but he knew he had lost.
