Dimitri let out a rough laugh, though the sound lacked its earlier confidence as he saw Alexander walk in. "What?" he sneered, blood staining his teeth. "Are you here to kill me?"
Alexander tilted his head slightly, the dim basement light cast shadows across his face, making his expression impossible to read.
"Kill you?" he repeated in a calm voice. "Dimitri... I don't like you nearly enough to give you something that merciful."
A flicker crossed Dimitri's face. "Mercy?" he sneered. "Is that what you call cowardice now? Figures. People talk about the Sterling family like you're powerful, like some monsters, but honestly?" He laughed again, louder this time. "You're all just a bunch of spineless cowards hiding behind your name."
Marcus leaned against the wall nearby, his arms crossed as he stared at Dimitri. 'Fool.' He thought. Truthfully, as long as Dimitri stayed breathing, Marcus couldn't care less what Alexander did to him.
