Soon, the time of departure had arrived, and under the cover of night, Aegon left Pentos riding Bahamut with Albion flying beside him.
On the back of Bahamut with him were Baqo and Rahko, two of his bloodriders; the two held on to the gaps between his scales as the dragon moved through the night sky.
Aegon glanced at them, but said nothing. His bloodriders were enhanced through ritual, making them far stronger than a regular man, and it was barely possible for them to endure.
The journey was smooth and quick; hours passed, and as the sun was at its peak, Aegon looked at the land below him and slowly climbed off the back of Bahamut.
"We are currently in the Crownlands. Kingslanding isn't more than half a day's walk away." Says Aegon.
" What are your orders?" Baqo and Rahko asked.
"You two will come with me to Kingslanding; the changes I've made to our appearances should hold for a day and a half at the very least.
Turning, he looked at his dragons, they were too big to hide easily.
Growl!!!!
Bahamut lowered his head, pressed it against Aegon, and then took off, followed by Albion.
Aegon had sent them back the way they came.
" That should be good enough, in the days we spend in Kingslanding no one should be able to find them there, and if they do they won't survive to tell." Aegon says, looking at the map floating in front of him.
He had sent the dragon closer to Kinglanding, in case something happened, but far enough so no one could spot them.
" Let's set off."
The three walked alone, not encountering any trouble or people along the way. By the time the city gates were in sight, it was already late evening, with darkness setting in.
Getting into the city was as simple as it was the last time he was here. Aegon simply slipped the guard a couple of golden dragons and was quickly on his way.
As expected, as they walked, the hushed whispers were heard by the three. King Robert had been injured during a hunt and was now in the Red Keep.
' It seems I came at the right time. I don't know how long the events from Robert's death to Ned Stark's imprisonment took, but it shouldn't be more than a week. I might have to stay a while longer than I thought, but it's fine, I'll take the time to create some spies in this city.'
Finding an inn didn't take long, and after the three settled in, they didn't leave the room for the rest of the day or even during the next day.
Aegon stood looking out the window of his room, his long black hair and deep black eyes a stark difference from the normal silver and purple.
His two bloodriders had lost their tanned skin; now pale with brown hair, they looked like regular men found in any of the seven kingdoms.
" We move tonight. We head into flea bottom."
Flea Bottom is a maze-like warren of narrow streets, ramshackle buildings, and dark alleys. The poorest and dirtiest place in Kingslanding.
The nobles would never go there, nor would the golden cloaks; the unprotected streets didn't offer much for people of his standing, but for Aegon, they offered a place to create his eyes and ears in Westeros.
In the past day, Aegon had stood by the window, and with his enhanced senses, he could hear everything being said in the streets, and nothing had changed.
There wasn't a word of Robert's death yet, but Aegon was sure the fat king would die tonight or tomorrow, and then in the following two days, Ned Stark would be arrested.
A couple of hours later, Aegon and his bloodriders left the inn and headed deep into Flea Bottom.
" Baqo, this building is filled with twenty people. Give it thirty minutes, then enter. I would rather them alive, but if they resist, you can kill some of them." Aegon says as the three look at the activity in the building.
" It will be done."
"Let's go, Rahko."
Soon they reached another building. Aegon gave Rahko the number of people in the building and gave him the same instructions as Baqo.
As Rahko entered the building, Aegon looked at his map and saw there wasn't anywhere else in Flea Bottom with a big enough gathering of people for Aegon to waste his time going there.
Aegon was pretty sure these two buildings were headquarters for gangs in Flea Bottom, but Aegon found it hard to believe Flea Bottom only had two gangs.
But right now it didn't matter.
Bang!!!!
Boom!!!
Hearing the noise coming from the building, Aegon knew Rahko had started, even though he was severely outnumbered. Aegon wasn't worried; even thirty trained soldiers would find it hard to fight his enhanced bloodriders, much less some untrained fools.
About ten minutes later, the sounds stopped, and Aegon entered.
He walked through the hall, and there was fresh blood everywhere, but no bodies.
" It seems like Rahko gathered everything in one place."
As Aegon looked at his map, he saw that about fifteen people were still alive, meaning Rahko had killed about half of them.
As Aegon entered, he returned to his original appearance and walked to Rahko, who was standing in front of the fifteen living and dead people.
Aegon noticed that the fifteen people left alive all had different degrees of injuries.
" You, you, you, and you step forward." Aegon said, pointing to the five people with the least serious injuries.
The men hesitated but looked at Rahko, then stepped forward.
" The Gods have been kind to you today. I will take you under my wing." Aegon said as he cut his finger with his sword.
The drop of blood was divided into five and shot into the heads of the five men, but nothing changed.
" I have your lives in my hands. From now on, you will do as I say." To demonstrate, he clenched his fist.
"Ahhhhh!!!! "
The five men screamed and dropped to the floor, clutching their heads in pain.
Aegon looked at them, screaming in pain, and a smile appeared on his face.
There was one thing he didn't tell them: that drop of blood would slowly change their minds, making their every thought be to carry out his orders and please him.
After a couple of months, they wouldn't even realize they had a life before him. This was why he was confident in performing the ritual to enhance them, as he knew they couldn't betray him.
Even though they wouldn't be as strong as his bloodriders, they would still be more than the common man could handle alone.
