The last full day in town began without a plan.
That alone seemed strange to Seraphine.
She came downstairs for breakfast with the map under her arm, sat down, spread it across the table, and spent a few seconds staring at the marked streets before realizing that nothing had been circled, underlined, or noted for that morning.
Kael noticed.
"Did you forget something?"
"No."
"Then why are you looking at it like that?"
"I didn't plan anything for today."
The nameless man, who was spreading honey on a slice of bread, looked up.
"Nothing?"
"Nothing mandatory."
He stopped.
"Then what do we do?"
Seraphine closed the map.
"We choose."
The man thought about it.
Kael drank his coffee.
Sylphie seemed strangely satisfied.
"This is going to take hours," Kael said.
"Why?"
"Because you two will want to evaluate every option."
The nameless man looked at Seraphine.
"I want to go back to the market."
"Me too."
Kael fell silent.
Sylphie smiled.
"That took four seconds."
