"Wifey, what are you doing?" Vincencio asked as soon as he put down freshly cooked pancakes, bacon, and sausages on the counter island where Skylar was doing her morning check on her laptop.
"Working," Skylar answered, busy reading reports on her email.
"Day off?" He guessed before transferring the hot kimchi fried rice onto the plate.
"For two days." She answered, typing a response to the emails and adding a note to the reports.
"And you're still working?" He asked the obvious, but to Skylar's ears sounded like a whine, making her giggle.
"Not the companies' work, though." She answered and winked at him. Vincencio instantly blushed but understood what she meant.
"Night hunting?" he guessed, and she nodded.
"Yep, and I got some info about Monica's whereabouts and SRF's men tailing her." She answered, catching his attention more while he arranged their dining table.
"SRF? Are you talking about SR Federation?" He wondered for assurance.
"I know their boss if your client, but if they touch Monica, I won't hesitate to deal with them too." She sternly replied, making him chuckle.
"You really don't like anyone touching what you set your eyes on." He pointed amusingly.
"True, and especially you." She deadpanned, making Vincencio flinch a little.
"I heard, and it's hot." He said before kissing her cheek.
"Don't go there if you don't want me to top you again." She warned as her eyes faintly turned bloody again. Vincencio chuckled, shaking his head before preparing warm drinks for their breakfast.
The couple had their peaceful breakfast with four people they warmly welcomed to their home. They talked about their lives and what they wished to have for their family. They listened to their stories, and the couple knew what they could do for them. When they finished their breakfast, Skylar let Vincencio do his usual duty around their household while she took their visitors to the living area to discuss serious matters with them.
"Feel relaxed and clear-headed?" Skylar gently asked as she joined them in the living area, where the young one, Lina, played a video game with her brother, Stark.
"Yes, Luna." The couple responded in unison, smiling genuinely at their hospitality.
"Okay, we have to discuss what we could do to help you." She started with her usual stern voice, making them listen.
"Luna, your help is already enough." Gin, a sentinel werewolf shifter, said politely.
"I know, but I don't want to stop giving a hand to those who really need help, and you're not exempt from it. So, let me help. Let us help you in every possible way we can." Skylar briefly reasoned and understood their good intention, they nodded before Skylar proceeded, "Good, your Alpha and I will discuss selling this house and transferring to a bigger one."
"You can't do that, this is your…" Quin, another sentinel werewolf shifter, refuted gently, trying to reason with her Luna, but Skylar had already made up her mind and cut her off.
"Yes, this is ours, and because of it, we can do nothing about this house. We're going to transfer into an estate where we're going to settle and build a pack." She interjected her reason before adding, "Besides, this house is small for a growing pack."
"You mean we're coming with you?" Gin wondered, trying to be sure about what he just heard.
"Of course, you're a member of our pack now, and my wifey is hella rich, so just say yes," Vincencio interjected and proudly informed them how wealthy their Luna was.
"Hubby, be serious," Skylar warned him with a heavy sigh.
"Well, they should know how rich my sugar Luna is." He countered teasingly, making Skylar glare at him, but he didn't say anything.
"Don't ask why you're Alpha acting like this. We're sort of reverse when it comes to this." She told them, making the couple nod skeptically.
"You'll get used to me doing household rules instead of commanding you since she's much better at doing that than I am," Vincencio said, grinning.
"Whatever." Skylar rolled her eyes, completely ignoring him, before sternly continuing her conversation with the couple, "As I'm saying, we're going to transfer there after I finish my workloads this week, and you'll be meeting the rest of my people who stayed loyal to me."
'Wifey, those people you are talking about, those you commanded before?'
"Not just them, Hubby. It includes their family." Skylar replied through their telepathy before continuing, "And Stark will be continuing your studies and work at one of my hotels as soon as you graduate. As for you, young lass, you need to learn how to speak, if not by words or sign language, maybe through artworks or writings. Do you like to learn that, kiddo?"
'Yes, Luna. I love the arts.'
Lina, the young one, spoke through the pack link, jumping excitedly before hugging Skylar as her sign of gratitude. Everyone was surprised, but they were grateful that even in a form of telepathy, the little one could speak to them. However, she still needed to learn to communicate outside the pack.
"Luna, Alpha, this is too much," Quin said, overwhelmed by their sincere help.
"Let's do our job as your Alpha and Luna." Vincencio gently said, making them agree.
"Also, Gin, I heard from your Alpha that you're good at driving and also a mechanic, is that true?" Skylar changed the topic like she already had something in mind.
"Yes, I owned a customized car rental shop before," Gin answered, wondering what she was up to.
"I know someone who can work with you in the same field. Maybe you two have different approaches when it comes to cars, but I think you can work something that only belongs to our pack." She continued, making Gin's eyes glitter with excitement.
"That will be a privilege, Luna. Thank you." He answered gratefully.
"Then it settles." She said, settling a job for him.
"As for you, Quin, why not be a chef at my restaurant that I'm planning to build when we transfer to the estate?" Vincencio suggested, making Quin's eyes water, but shocked.
"Alpha, that's…a dream come true." She said, squeezing her husband's hand as she agreed to their Alpha's offer.
"But for a week, you need to train for the field we prepared for you. Can you do that?" With a little additional information, Skylar wondered before adding, "I already called someone who can take you there this afternoon, but they'll be here before lunch. So, get ready."
"Yes, Luna." They both agreed.
"And me?" Stark asked politely, pausing his game.
"You will be training with me, Stark, while Lina plays with my wife," Vincencio answered, making the young man nod before continuing to play with his sister.
***
From their master bedroom's balcony, Skylar watched the Torres family have their family bonding in their backyard while Vincencio exchanged werewolf knowledge with them. She felt full at the warm view unfolded before her sight when she heard a familiar whispering voice deep inside her with a never-ending scent of bloody roses.
'See what I mean when I told you to stick beside him.'
"I do, but what's the dream about? Is it a dream or a memory?" Skylar smiled but felt flattered as soon as she recalled her hazy dream.
'You'll know when you finish what needs to be done.'
"And what is that?" she asked, and Vincencio looked at her, worried, but she waved her hand.
'Your anger and hatred clear it before I fully surface as one with you. By then, you'll understand if it's just a dream or a memory.'
"For someone like me, you're puzzling one, Rose." She sighed as she commented, little bothered by what her vampire side whispered.
'Well, being a vampire sometimes feels like that. Anyway, I'll rest with Vin and talk to Vincencio about that dream. He looked worried about it.'
"I will, but not today. There's something that needs to be done first." She sighed but agreed with her vampire side since Vincencio was frowning while staring at her.
'If you say so. Best of luck with your night hunt, and feel free to use my vampire powers since he's with you.'
Skylar might not clearly understand what she just heard, but the way Vincencio kept his eyes only on her, she got it already. She was about to speak with Vincencio through telepathy, but her phone rang and she picked it up, only to hear her daughter's voice, Irina, on the other line.
'Mom, you texted.'
"I did, and baby, come here. I would like you to meet somebody." Skylar softly said, answering Irina's question.
'At your house?'
"Yes, and please bring Joey and Medina with you." She answered with a little request that Irina excitedly agreed to.
'Sure, we'll be there in a flash.'
"Don't rush too much, but be careful on your way here." She reminded, toning Irina's excitement before hanging up the call.
"Are they coming here now?" Vincencio wondered as he draped his arms around her waist before kissing her shoulder.
"Yeah, because Night Rose will soon be open to the public." She said before turning and wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Sounds like it's been established before I even heard it from you." Amused, he guessed, and she grinned.
"Well, those who stick and still follow wherever I go, or have decided to stay with me and call ourselves the Silence Rose gang. We worked silently, blending in but observing, which I know you haven't completely met before. But since our night lives' secrets had been revealed to each other, it's time for them to know about us and be officially a Night Rose pack." She briefly cleared to him with conviction, and she was sharing it with Vincencio without doubt.
"How many are they?" he asked before kissing her temple.
"Just thirty, not including their family, my uncle and our section's commander." She replied before pecking his lips, went to bed, and texted Josh about Monica.
Text Messages
Alpha Lar: Get ready for Monica's playground."
Delta J: Already settling the venue. I'll send the details, including her coordinates.
Alpha Lar: Noted. Beta Din will give everyone a notification after our meeting today. Wait for further details.
Delta J: Affirmative.
"So this thirty has been with you since your military days?" he wondered as he checked the text messages his wife was sending.
"In and out of military school and the field." She answered before adding, "And because of them, I've got a slight glimpse of night creatures because some of them have been turned, which we have to help them on how to handle it. And some were married or mated to one, which I bet they knew about you before I even learned it completely."
"At least, you already had an idea and will not be surprised by it anymore." He understood before he went to their closet to change.
"Honestly, I'm terrified when you shift into Vin. It scared me. I could hear your bones snapping like a fragile twig, and I saw how you cried in pain that moment." She sincerely said, looking sad, making Vincencio run to her side. "I'll be honest, Hubby, I don't want you morph like that ever again, can you do that?"
"If I'm able to let Vin out from time to time, then yeah, I can do that." He gently said, making Skylar nod.
"That's good then because the estate is near the Avalon's border and your MG port. It's a field with woods and an open field." She answered with joy, but Vincencio frowned a little.
"Don't tell me it's the reason why sometimes I sensed you snooping around my port at night." With a squint, he sternly guessed, making Skylar giggle shyly.
"Well, before I'm just checking the neighborhood until that Snake is entangled with you." She admitted, and Vincencio can't argue with it.
"Then it will be easy access to do both. I could manage the port and the pack at the same time." He agreed, but there was a mischievous grin on his wife's lips.
"Already plotted." She winked.
"WIFEY!" He exclaimed with wide eyes upon realizing something.
"What?" She innocently asked, as if she didn't know what he was trying to say.
"Don't tell me you infiltrated my port without telling me?" he guessed, making Skylar blush but grinning.
"Well, guilty as charged, but I didn't do anything harmful. Aside from the Presley Siblings, I let them put a few of their men on the watch, you know, some of my prey landed around your port." She admitted with a hopeful look, and Vincencio glared, but in a second, he gave up and sighed.
"You sly vampire." He said before kissing her lips.
"Correction, your sly vampire Luna." With a slight push, she grinned as she corrected him before kissing him again.
"Indeed, my Luna." He agreed amusingly before pulling away since he sensed their visitors by their lawn already. "And they're here."
