Chapter 76 - Chapter 76 - Easing Castro's Burdens

Alexis' POV

Basilio-san was quite surprised by the petition made by the two kids. "Help? For your teacher?" he said to them.

One of the kids, a Hybrid Vamzom girl, then nodded. "Yes, he had many students to handle."

"And his school, our school, was overcrowded as heck, sir!" another, a human commoner boy, added while nodding like a kid.

"Ah, I see then…" Basilio replied back while understanding it slowly and with critical thinking. "Okay, I'll help out. Can I ask where that school was?"

"It was in southern Fadobozok…" the girl replied.

"Our teacher, Castro Mars-sensei…" the boy added, "…was from Safir, Zakhith Region, Pantano, and he runs the school me and my friend here currently attending…"

Understanding it, Basilio replied, "Okay, let's go there so I could see what I can do to solve his problem."

Seeing that he is willing readily, the two kids were happy and said thank you to him with respect for his authority over us."

I am Alexis Baron, and I am Forest Vamzom, as well as, surprise! I am a Partial Vamzom at whopping 95 percent! Haha…yeah…Plus, I had a rare, unique ability called Shapeshifter. That was an S-ranked one as I know, and it allows a user to shapeshift to anyone to blend in. It's perfect for espionage missions. But, the downside is that I had to look at a particular person to get his/her looks and process that information to create my disguise. It takes practice, but I am a master of it. Hehe…I imagined myself in an espionage mission to enemy territory by Basilio-san…

Third person POV

So, at 1:20 p.m., Basilio, Alexis, Izumi, and Adrián, as well as an escort group of 3 Vamzom guards, went down to Barangay Fadobozok's southern forested area, which touches the border with Pantano's eastern Zakhith region, to meet up with Castro at his school for Vamzoms. There the bandito where the school was in, called the Kho (storage in Vietnamese) Community, was small, but bigger than the majority of the banditos in Ruslav since 20 families shared the land of it. Most of them were farmers and craftsmen to make a living. But two places that stood out in the sea of huts and middle-class-style homes were Castro's school and a small cathedral owned by Light Rays Church. The former also served as Castro's residence and the latter was run by a sympathetic priest and his small order of presbyters and small army of 20 church soldiers (These guys were sympathetic to the Vamzom community here and were at peace with them.) The cathedral serves the spiritual need of the non-Vamzoms living in the community. The name Kho came from a storage facility that stored the food of the bandito for winter seasons.

There Basilio and his guards were quite intrigued by how the bandito looked like in person, and Alexis, who was from that bandito, explained to his master and comrades about it and it being his birthplace, much to Basilio's surprise. Basilio really got that knowledge right away. And then, all of them went to Castro's school, which was having a class at this hour. Castro, a 23-year-old man with black, messy hair and purple eyes and average in stature, was teaching a subject of math to his class of Hybrid Vamzoms and human kids, as well as a few that were elves and wolves. There were even of wolf and Vamzom blood, indicating that marriage of Vamzoms also extended with wolves, mostly from Pilla's country, Dacuinia.

And then Basilio knocked on the closed sliding door, and Castro interrupted his lecture to open it. Castro was taken aback by his presence. "Woah! Hi there, are you…?"

"I'm Valencia Basilio, the leader of Ruslav," Basilio replied nicely with respect, "good afternoon, Mr. Castro."

Being shocked that this kid was their country's leader, Castro and his class were a bit nervous because of his high position.

 "Oh…um…good afternoon, sir…"

 "Good afternoon, sir!"

 "Yeah, good afternoon, too…"

"Everyone, it's fine," Basilio replied in reassurance for them, "I am here because Castro needs help with the capacity with your school here."

Now they get it, and Castro was relieved that Basilio will help with his current problem. So, wanting to have a talk with the leader of Ruslav, Castro immediately ended his class for today and said to his students, "Kids, class is over. All of you may go home for today. Also, do your homework for math and history, okay?"

His class got it and left the classroom with their bags.

Now having a quiet place to talk, Castro and Basilio had a talk in the classroom with some of the Vamzom guards guarding the place outside. They talked about the concern of his school reaching beyond its maximum capacity by now. Castro's school was intended for around 100 students (maximum for full-time), but according to him, there were over 150 registered students currently attending this school. Some of them came from other banditos across Ruslav and had come over to the school either on foot or by public transport (traditional and modern) every morning to attend classes, and then they go home in the afternoon. Hearing that last part, Basilio was stunned and remembered that, in his past life, many students traveled far to attend class in college and university in the Philippines and come home in the afternoon or evening. This means that there were only a few schools for Vamzoms for the areas outside of Nuevo Tacloban's boundaries, and Castro' school was one of them. Others were established by patrons from Dacuinia and Falleta. Yet, the capacity for these small-time, localized schools were reaching beyond their capacities. Castro, in this case, was burdened by this responsibility of keeping his school in order, even though he had taken this path and had given up his family tradition of being knights for generations.

Hearing all that, Basilio was concerned for Castro and started thinking about establishing public-private schools across the country soon.
