Chapter 65 - Chapter 65 - A Simple Piano Song, yet Beautiful in Melody

Third person POV

"Thanks, Basilio-san," Marcello replied with relief and happiness. "By the way, you were the leader of the Forest Vamzoms, right?"

"Yes, I am, you must be…"

"I'm Marcellus Pagano, the current leader of the Snow Vamzoms, greetings for you, Basilio-kun."

By that time, Basilio's wounds healed up, much to their astonishment, and he finally explained to them how that happened. Now they know of his Short-Term Survivor Ability and now got it, with Chivo really gave thanks to the gods for his friend's safety.

After that, with everything now cleared up, Marcellus gave a warm welcome to Basilio and his group in his headquarters home, called the Snow Fortress by locals outside of their territory and within Mavimasu, a valley town currently under control by Mont De Nèu. The Snow Fortress was a complex with a castle-like, main headquarters, whose architecture was like that of Gothic in the snowy mountains, but it had design flares of Byzantine-Eastern Europe architecture, like the ones found in Eastern Orthodox churches. This featured a central dome in the center of the headquarters with beautiful mosaics depicting their history in the region, which, according to Marcellus, was over 400 years old. In addition to the main headquarters, other buildings in the complex were also built to serve as other functions of the fortress, like the ones for military and storage. These were spread across the flat area on the snowy mountain and some on its sloped areas that can be accessible by stairs. The center of the complex was marked by a plaza filled with a memorial stone for the Snow Vamzom soldiers who died for their small dominion over the centuries. That one, however, had been recently updated to include their victims of their raids and attacks in Falleta and the surrounding regions after all of them had snapped back to their senses, partially thanks to an Otherworlder living in Mavimasu.

Aside from the exterior and grounds of the headquarters, the interior was as nice as the exterior. These included rooms with fireplaces to warm up for the year-bound winter climate and even a grand piano in one of the drawing rooms. The latter caught the attention of Basilio and his siblings. Paulina and Basilio were good pianists in their previous world, though the latter could only play songs with 1 or 2 keys in each hand.

"Is that a grand piano?" Paulina asked while looking at that grand piano.

"Oh, yes, nice, isn't it?" Marcellus responded while looking at it for a bit. "I got that as a gift from an Otherworlder, who was a pianist in her previous life. She lived in Mavimasu."

 "An Otherworlder?" Basilio asked.

"Yes, she is, and her name is Lorelei Lãnh. You're one of them, right?"

"Yes,…I am, from a country called the Philippines in my past life, but these two people are summoned heroes here."

Marcellus stopped walking and looked at him and his older siblings with some awe. "These two with you are what?"

Clearing his throat, Ormoc replied, "Yes, and we were his older siblings. I'm Ormoc Valencia, and this is our eldest sibling, Paulina."

He glanced at Paulina for a few seconds.

"Greetings for you." Paulina bowed slightly and quickly.

"Nice to meet you two, Ormoc and Paulina," responded Marcellus with manners.

After that, wanting to play a song on Marcellus' piano, Basilio said to Marcellus, "Hey, can I play a song on your piano?" Hearing that, Marcellus looked at him. "Oh, sure, can you play it?"

 "Yes, a few, simple ones."

It was granted, and the leader of Ruslav went to the grand piano, sat on its wooden seat, and opened the lid that covered the keys of big whites and small blacks, before flexing his hands a bit and started playing a simple song from the Philippines. This song had one to two keys on each hand, and the flow for the right hand was simple yet beautiful due to the song's slow tune and pace. Hearing the song being played, everyone in the drawing room were stunned, while Ormoc and Paulina were proud of their younger sibling's skills in the piano.
