Chapter 752 - Chapter 749: Even a Cooked Duck Can Fly

Yang Dan looked at her deeply and said, "After I chanted the complete Song of Fire, my power surpassed that of a true god, yet I still could not ascend to godhood.

To break through the final step, I had to further perfect my Song of Fire.

So I thought of the First Flame. The First Flame that created the world must contain the mysteries of creation.

If I could obtain a single ember of the First Flame, let alone becoming a true god, I could even become a God King.

Since R'hllor is the First Flame, His birthplace beneath the Fourteen Fire Peaks had a high chance of producing a second ember."

Digging for the First Flame indeed suited Yang Dan's identity more than digging for gold.

Strictly speaking, this guy counted as a devout seeker of the Way.

Unfortunately…"Not long after the world was born, the First Flame was completely exhausted," Dany sighed.

"I dug for two thousand years before I accidentally learned this secret from a dark demon god," Yang Dan's eyes flickered with surprise. "Was it the weirwood that told you? You are very fortunate to have met a good teacher."

Dany pondered. The story between Yang Dan and R'hllor as master and student must have been quite remarkable.

"Good deeds bring rewards!" she said smugly.

"Good person? How childish!" Yang Dan sneered. "Humanity's definition of a good person means nothing to the will of the world. As long as you can sing a more perfect Song of Law, even if you exterminate humankind, fate will still favor you. You would still be Heaven's chosen."

"If our paths differ, we should not work together. Explain the Great Cataclysm first."

Feeling the intensifying energy surges from the sea below, a hint of urgency flashed through Dany's eyes.

Yang Dan scoffed and said, "After that, I lowered my goal and wanted only the residue of the First Flame.

If R'hllor is the First Flame, then the place where He was born must have been soaked in it for countless years. There had to be remnants."

He gave a weary sigh. "Unfortunately, He never existed there to begin with. Countless years of excavation only thinned the crust outside the volcano more and more. In the end, catastrophe came."

"I thought a true god intervened in the Great Cataclysm." Dany felt a strange disappointment. The scandal was not dramatic enough.

"Of course a true god was involved," Yang Dan said, dashing her disappointment. "Just like today, at least R'hllor meddled with something.

The event happened too suddenly, so I cannot be sure whether other gods joined.

But in the end, I myself was still the root cause of the Great Cataclysm. If I had not activated the high-powered magic pump, no one could have ambushed me."

At least he had some self-awareness.

"You regret it?"

"I regret it," Yang Dan sighed. "I should have spent several thousand years settling my foundation, perfecting the magic tower technology, so no schemer could take advantage."

Dany's mouth twitched. "You know R'hllor deceived you and that there was never a First Flame under the Fourteen Fire Peaks, yet you still never woke up?"

"Who says there is no First Flame beneath the Fourteen Fire Peaks?" Yang Dan's eyes grew eerie. He stared at Dany up and down, barely suppressing the greed burning beneath his gaze.

"Recently, I realized my understanding of the First Flame was flawed. The First Flame is the fire of world creation. Naturally, it can take any form. For example, reincarnating as a person, or merging into someone's soul and becoming her talent."

"I may not have unearthed the First Flame back then. But later, during the Great Cataclysm, when the Fourteen Fire Peaks erupted at once, a power capable of reshaping the world burst forth. Within that eruption was a First Flame."

Yang Dan was becoming more and more feverish, the greed in his eyes barely contained.

"You guessed wrong. I have nothing to do with the First Flame."

Yang Dan's staring made Dany uncomfortable.

"No, I am right! Daenerys, you can no longer escape," Yang Dan licked his lips, trembling with excitement. "This time I did not descend as a mere thought. This vessel contains one-fifth of my divine soul. In terms of divine power, divinity, and total soul volume, I am already three times stronger than you.

And more importantly, I still have the magic tower!Even if I do nothing and only restrain your spiritual power, you will have no chance to use spatial magic.

Besides, have you not noticed?

The magic in the undersea volcano is constantly swelling. The magic tower output is rising rapidly. The space around you is frozen in place. Even if you possess the weirwood's spatial magic, do not even think of opening a portal through a defense barrier rated at six Baelor.

After all, you have only possessed that old ghost's gift for less than a day. You must be unfamiliar. You might even expend an enormous amount of energy each time you use a portal because of inexperience.

If you lack enough magic to tear open my spatial blockade, then no matter how powerful or mysterious your spellcraft is, what use is it?"

"Uh… you knew?" Dany asked in surprise.

"I did not at first. But just now, R'hllor transmitted a message to the magic tower and told me everything," Yang Dan said proudly.

"You two are… lovers and enemies!" Dany said strangely, using a strange term.

"That bastard simply does not want you to escape. He borrowed my hand to bind you, or even kill you, and then…" Yang Dan's expression suddenly twisted with resentment.

"According to the legendary hero script, two great demons with a grudge should be fighting to the death before my eyes while I take the fisherman's prize.

How did it end up with me, the great hero, fighting you, the great demon, only for some shady demon on the sidelines to reap all the gains?" Dany complained.

"Hmph. The legend is not wrong. It is merely that whoever survives in the end becomes the hero. After all, only the living get to tell their story," Yang Dan sneered.

"Since your head is so clear, why not open the barrier and make peace for now?Clearly, R'hllor lurking in the dark has the greatest chance of becoming the big hero." Dany proposed.

"Don't delude yourself!" Yang Dan sneered. "Who gets to eat the duck comes later. Before the duck is cooked, we will reach a tacit understanding to make sure it cannot fly away."

"I'm the duck?"

"You should have had that awareness long ago." Yang Dan let out a long sigh and said with utmost sincerity, "Daenerys, merge with me and become one.

This is not a simple act of plunder.

You will have me within you, and I will have you within me. You will be me, and I will be you. Together we will sing the most beautiful Song of Fire, and the world will be elevated by our song!"

"Don't disgust me," Dany shuddered and said with revulsion. "I would rather have my body destroyed and my soul return to the body of the great dragon than have sex with you. Saying that word alone is blasphemy against me!"

"Stop being so stubborn," Yang Dan sneered. "Do you think that after you die, R'hllor will allow the white dragon and the green dragon to calmly carry your soul away?"

Dany let out a long howl. "I'll teach you a lesson today. A cooked dead duck is not only stubborn, it can still fly!"

As soon as the words fell, Dahei lowered his body, opened his mouth toward Yang Dan, and the long-accumulated magic power burst forth.

"Childish!" Yang Dan's face was full of mockery. "Trying to harm a god of flame and dragons with dragonfire inside a wizard tower."

Boom. In the next instant, Dahei spat out a strange "mosaic fireball," bright red, like an irregular giant crystal condensed from countless multifaceted red crystals.

At a glance, it looked as if the dragonfire fireball had been pixelated.

When Yang Dan saw that fireball, his expression changed wildly. "No, this is impossible!"

The mosaic fireball slammed into Yang Dan's chest like a cannonball. Yang Dan's instinctive attempt to deflect it with fire-control magic was completely ineffective.

However, Yang Dan was neither blasted away by the "cannonball" nor melted by the dragonfire.

Buzz, buzz, buzz, bang. The mosaic fireball vibrated rapidly a few times, then, like a lump of paste, fell onto a completely transparent iron plate and spread out like batter being turned into a pancake.

The "pancake" passed through Yang Dan's chest as if nothing were there, then scraped across the indestructible black stone wall behind him, producing a teeth-gritting cutting sound.

In the end, the "pancake" met resistance at the red magic barrier outside the wall.

At the point of contact, magic power surged violently, as if a pipe as thick as an embrace had been opened, spraying nothing but flames and fire magic.

Space and time blurred there.

Yang Dan lowered his head and did not see his lower body, nor did he see the floor of the black tower. Instead, he saw a stretch of reddish-brown barren land, one white and one green giant dragon, and three winged dragons carrying iron-armored knights. Five dragons skimmed close to the ground in flight.

"You actually gave a true god's gift to a stupid dragon." Yang Dan raised his head, his face twisted as he roared in disbelief. "Do you even understand what you've done? 'Wasting a priceless treasure' is not enough to describe your stupidity!"

His roar grew more and more distant, and the torso above his chest also fell into another space.

This sounds like a long story, but it happened in an instant. While Yang Dan was still roaring, Dahei tucked in his wings, took Dany with him, and leapt down into the pool-sized red mirror surface below.

It was Dahei who opened the spatial gate, not Dany.

Yang Dan took every precaution, yet guarded against the wrong person.

A demigod giant dragon possesses nearly limitless magic power, and there was also the Pool of Faith of the Seven Gods. No matter how Yang Dan used his immense magic to freeze space, it was useless unless he himself comprehended the laws of space.

Dany, Dahei, and Xiaolv were simultaneously in dragon-spirit communion. In this way, they helped Dahei fix the exit of the spatial gate directly above Xiaolv's head.

Well, Xiaolv, Xiaobai, and Jorah had previously been watching the spectacle around the Black Tower of the Sept. But after Yang Dan's second divine descent and the subsequent loss of control of the undersea volcano, Dany immediately told them to leave.

They did not go far from Oros, though, since only a few minutes had passed.

Whoosh.

A sudden gale erupted overhead. Big Bear and Garth and the others abruptly looked up and saw an oval ring of fiery red light flare into existence in midair, with vast swathes of magical sparks being flung down from the other side of the ring.

"Seven Gods, what is that?" Big Bear was still frozen in shock when he saw half a corpse, complete with head, neck, and shoulder armor, fall from above.

Yes, that cloaked head looked utterly disheveled and was roaring loudly, yet its eyes radiated golden light and it exuded an overwhelming, oppressive presence.

Just as Big Bear, Garth, and several other warriors resisted the pressure on their souls and raised their hand crossbows in alarm, preparing to attack the remnant, the sky darkened again. Dahei leapt out of the light ring with his "shoulders" tucked in.

The black dragon opened its mouth. Golden-red runes appeared between its upper and lower jaws, floating and arranging themselves into a dazzling sealing magic array.

Yang Dan felt a surge of golden light overhead. His roar had not yet ceased when he fell into Dahei's mouth.

He landed within that sealing array.

It was like being put into a tight-fitting suit. The array clung closely to every inch of his flesh and then burned it away.

Crackle, crackle. The cloaked believer that served as the vessel was burned to nothing, leaving only a resplendent, blazing divine soul within the sealing array.

He struggled. He cursed.

Unfortunately, Dany had planned everything while he was unprepared and did not even give him a chance to escape back to his true body through dragon-spirit communion.

Whoosh. Yang Dan's divine soul entered the divine kingdom of the Seven Gods and was sealed in the abyss of that realm.

Never to rise again for all eternity.
