"Ava, I've compiled a list of possibilities," Cream Puff's soft, almost cheerful voice broke the silence of the study. The glowing holographic scan it projected was still hovering in the air, full of shifting lines, bright nodes, and complex overlays that looked like the world's most intimidating science fair project. Ava leaned back in her chair, chin propped on her hand, a bar of chocolate in the other hand, staring at the neon-blue chaos with an expression of mock comprehension.
"Uh-huh. A list of possibilities," she echoed slowly. "Yup. Totally understand what I'm looking at. Definitely not about to ask you to translate for me like five-year-old me who once asked why the sky was blue and got a twenty-minute lecture about nitrogen."
