Otsanna's living room had been silent for some time. Vilka and Blaize , the only occupants of the living room, sat side by side on wooden chairs, neither of them speaking. Finally, unable to stand the quiet any longer, Blaize broke the silence.
"You came alone, Mother." Her words came out slowly.
Vilka knew what she meant. She smiled and nodded in response.
"I needed the run," she said knowing Blaize had noticed the lack of a carriage outside.
Blaize looked at her mother with concern. "Are you okay?"
"Of course, love." Vilka said.
Then they sank in to another moment of silence and this time, Vilka was worried that Blaize won't speak again.
But she did.
"Mother," Blaize said softly, and Vilka turned to her sharply, a huge wave of relief washing over her.
"Yes?" she said eagerly.
Blaize hesitated before asking, "A-a-are-y-y-you a-a-ang-gry with me?" Her eyes pleaded with her mother.
