Zephyr had not been expecting Blaize to walk into the study with Selene, but with Blaize's recent behavior, nothing surprised him anymore.
His expression, as usual, was a carefully constructed mask of indifference. Ralph and Zeeb, however, looked as though a mysterious and complicated problem had just landed squarely in their laps. It was their intense stares that made Blaize want to bolt from the room the moment she saw that Selene was in safe hands.
"H-hello," Blaize said softly, doing her best to avoid the gazes of her brother and his friends. She gave Selene a comforting smile, and Selene smiled back gratefully.
Then, with a quick glance at the three men, Blaize blurted out, "B-bye!" before hurrying out of the room.
