Another day started and everyone was just following there routine when suddenly Mom's phone started to ring. When she looked at the screen of her phone she was amazed because it was her mother's call.
Mom: "Hello Ammi Assalamualaikum, It's been a long time how are you doing."
Grandmother Sheeba: "Walaikumassalaam, My beloved daughter I am doing great, I called you because I am missing all of you. And today I am coming over to your place."
Mom: "Really mother!!!!, I am so excited."
The door bell rings. The family then freezes in panic.
Mom: (Panicked) "Quick hide the energy drinks, takeout boxes and Adeeb's stinky gym socks!!!"
But it was too late.... she arrived like a tornado with lot's of fruit bag's and a handbag full of family albums.
Grandmother Sheeba: "Where are my Angels!!!"
All of the grandkids greeted her (Thinking: "We're doomed")
Grandmother Sheeba: "Why does this house smell's like laziness!!!"
Mom said changing the topic.
Mom: "So Ammi when did you planed to come over."
Grandmother Sheeba: "I didn't planned it, I just came to save you!."
Mom: "Save me!!! from what!!!."
Grandmother Sheeba: "From modern parenting! Last night I saw an article on 'screen time' and emotional intelligence' back in my days I just used to yell on you to go play outside!, and see.... you turned out fine."
Mom: "Ammi I know how to raise my children's pretty well."
Grandmother Sheeba: (Grabbing the takeout box) "Then can you tell me what is this!!!, my grandkids should eat real food not this garbage."
Grandma then spots the family's new smart fridge.
Grandmother Sheeba: "ASTAGFIRULLAH, what is that a JINN box!!!!"
Dad: (Proudly said)"It's modern fridge Ammi, it can even tell us when we are out of milk"
Grandmother Sheeba: "Back in my days we used eyes!!!"
Then begins the ultimate power move of grandmother. She replaced the Netflix shows to Qawwali and then turned on her ninja vision mode and started to look over the kitchen.
Grandmother Sheeba: "LA HAUWLA WALA QUWWAT!! I am about to pass-out!! it looks like a world war had happened here, why are the dishes still dirty, why is sauce dripped on the floor, dirty plates here and disappointment there!!!"
Mom: Ammi leave them aside we'll clean it later come and have some juice.
Grandmother Sheeba: "Ahhh... Finally ALHAMDULILLAH!! I can see you drinking something healthy at least!!"
Mom: "I'll go and prepare the dinner"
Grandmother Sheeba: "Wait I'll help you with it"
While Mom was preparing raita for biryani Grandmother took a spoon and tasted it with a slurp.
Grandmother Sheeba: "LAHAUWLA WALA QUWWAT!!! you call this raita. Where's the black salt, garnished chili, the regret?!!!(Then she proceeds to dump an entire spoon full of black salt and pepper into it)"
Mom: "Ammi wait the doctors said....."
Grandmother Sheeba: "Hush.. don't you dare question my recipe, it's legendary."
Everyone gathered on the dinning table for dinner. The smell of biryani mesmerized everyone's mind and they started eating with BISMILLAH.
Adeeb: "Ummmm.... This biryani is too tasty Mom...."
Farha: "I haven't eaten raita like this before, it truly have a strong taste..."
Zain: "Dad pass me the bowl... I am gonna eat until I pass-out (then he dripped some raita over Adeeb's trouser)"
Adeeb: (Frustrated)"Are you blind, Now you'll be the one to remove this stain or else pray for your life"
Zain: (Smirking)"Oh my dear brother it's not a stain i just made your trouser more aesthetic"
Then Brownie jumped onto the table and snatched a piece of chicken from Adeeb's plate and flew away..
Zain: "Well done Brownie I'll reward you with a treat later (said waving at the cat)"
And that's how their day went. A total chaos but a happy family enjoying there life to the fullest.
Brownie: "mew mew mew mew ('I love my life')!!"
