Claire looked around the place in wonder. She had thought the Silvershade pack was opulent the few times she caught a glimpse of it in secret, but that was nothing compared to the grandeur of this place. She was given her own quarters in Alpha Samuel's place. It was the nearest one to the packhouse.
'Ring Ring.' Her attention went to her phone ringing. She checked the screen and found her mother calling her. This was the first time her mother had ever called her.
Claire picked it up. "Hello?''
"Did you meet your chosen mate?'' Matilda's query was right to the point, making Claire shudder.
"I did."
"Have you slept with him?"
Claire didn't know how to answer that but had to. "We arrived only an hour ago; there is a luncheon that I'm invited to…"
"So you didn't sleep with him." The words were ice cold. Tears gathered in Claire's eyes.
"Mother…"
