Deep In A Mountain

As the storm rush through the mountain, I and an acting guide which I have read about is a head of command for site 41 which is located deep inside a cave containing SCP-009 has been breach by something... Deeper inside the Scp-009 cave.
The snow was almost to chest as I continue to walk normally while the head of command nervously try keeping up with me.
???: "So tell me the information that you seem to not even trust our communication privacy... And it better be worth it..."
The poor head of command named Pina as she has requested for a small unit of Mole Rats since they are good with caves system, but she DID NOT expect that the O5-1 would personally send someone to check it.
Pina: "Well... Sir, I don't know why the O5-1 would send someone to deal with something this small of an issue, we already got confirmation on a squad for mole rat has been allowed to help deal with this situation."
Pina the poor little woman who has gained a reputation for always being uptight with everyone and everything, Pina is beautiful but in this deep mountain climate? She couldn't care less about her look's as the mountain offer her a deep calm place outside of conflict, outside of society and in a place where she is respected, research to her heart content... And now the ruling council of the SCP foundation has sent someone in a blizzard when she requested for Mole Rats after something... Inside the cave happen...
???: "Just think of it as help deal to something that won't cause any further issue's is best to plug a hole inside a dam than let it sit still, you might not know when it becomes a bigger hole."
Pina: "Won't cause any further issue, sir, with due respect I'm sure if the council trust to come deal with this situation can focus somewhere else."
???: "Well, it does not matter now, I was sent by them and I don't get to choose how I spend my time."
Pina: "But sir, what happens if your location with the council get leak? I mean, if they personally sent you, that means the council will keep you close as to make sure you're always ready for deployment."
A sudden stop in the ??? Movement as he slowly turn his head and stare at her even tho he was wearing a mask with no visible eyehole and wearing a coat it was too light in this climate, but Pina can feel his eye's being colder than the blizzard itself.
???: "You think they will live long enough to tell?"
It was sharp and expected as Pina slowly nod as we continue our movement, as Pina look at ??? Even though she felt overwhelming pressure from a moment ago, she can't help but feel like that this man that the ruling council trust... Is this tiny... OF COURSE, SHE WILL NEVER ADMIT IT!! But he was definitely at least like 4 feet?
But that doesn't matter anymore as Pina lead the way before finally coming across a mountain with no cave visible, but there is more than what meet the eye.
Pina: "Yongyuan hanleng, yongyuan hanleng di difang"
As I see the site for studying SCP-009 slowly metallized out of thin air as the gate start to open for me and Pina to enter. We enter a containment facility where the guards start to ask question about Pina to make sure she wasn't someone else pretending to be her, I covered my identity as someone that will assist the issue.
As the second gate open, guards salute at Pina which she gave them a little nod as Pina lead me to a meeting room where I see the requested squad of 7 people call Mole Rats specializing in exploring and containing anomalies in underground as they quickly get up from their seat to salute. As I see the squad leader of the Mole Rat name Ian first speak.
Ian: "Ah? And you must be the person that the O5 has recommended, it's nice to meet you... Sir?"
He spoke calmly, but there was a hint of anxiety mix into his words.
???: "Yes greeting aside, let see what we are dealing first, Pina?"
Pina nodding as she reaches down to grab her phone.
Pina: "Bring him in..."
Before the door open to reveal an old man with long white hair properly from the years outside the world doing nothing but research. As Pina introduce me to him.
Pina: "Sir, this is our head of research name Sover for SCP-009 and will explain in details about what happen in the cave."
Sover reach his hand out, which I grab and shake as he starts to speak in his old and harsh voice, most likely from the environment.
Sover: "Greeting sir, it is a pleasure that you're here to help deal with this... Troubling time, even though it should not be of the O5 attention."
???: "It's fine, but I will tell you I won't be going with the Mole Rat into the cave, I will just be watching from the side as well as writing a report to the O5 and also do not disclose any information about the new SCP inside 009 do you understand."
Sover nod as I let go his hand before I took my seat while Pina stand by the side as the Mole Rat take their own seat. As the light die out and the projector start showing the incident in the cave.
Sover: "Last month, researchers have been going missing we dispatch our guards inside the cave but..."
???: "They didn't come back, did they?"
Sover: "No sir... They didn't, but fortunately we put cameras on them so we can have live feed be sent back to me and this... It is what I found."
As the projector show the red crystal dripping on the guards melting them before I see them start shooting in the darkness as they try to run away before the crystal quickly start forming around them and slowly melt the guards alive... Before Sover pause the video and there it was, although it was blurry, but its characteristic was very much visible, it looks like a humanoid slime.
Sover: "Scp-009 is still an Euclid-Class SCP and this is something much, much new... We call it the red crystal also known as Scp-009-A since we don't know what it can do for now beside its high acidic level's."
Ian: "Do we know why it suddenly starts appearing? And why did it take so long that you guys only ask for backup?"
Sover: "Well... I suspect the reason why it suddenly appears, is due to global warming I saw a pattern when the earth heat was at it highest... Scp-009-A start to appear, and as for why it took so long to ask for backup... I don't want to waste our guards' life on something that can kill our guards so easily but as soon as it appears the weather gotten much harsher even colder and even faster winds..."
Sover: "So we halted all research to continue until the issue is resolved, though as unhappy as I am the researcher's morale seem... Higher, even though we have not told them why. *Sigh* So we waited for the entire month for the weather to calm down than we sent a distress signal... Though I did not think someone from the ruling council will send someone..."
???: "Do not mention so casually, Dr. Sover... I am merely just leading a hand... Not being the hand itself. We will begin the mission once we properly fit the Mole Rat squad to handle this new variant of Scp-009, do I make myself clear?"
All of them nodded at my words as Sover and Pina lead the squad to the equipment while I stay in the room watching the variant.
