Looking at the sword-wielding youth before him, Alfred spoke with a hint of emotion.
"This was inevitable."
Liens responded indifferently.
He could sense Alfred's emotion and roughly understood why he felt that way.
Compared to Alfred's unfamiliarity with him, having only met once, Liens knew much more about him.
The long-awaited outcome had finally brought hope of its realization, and even this old man, known as the Sword Saint, found it difficult to calm his heart.
"Yes, inevitable…"
Upon hearing this, Alfred's voice grew even more emotional, but he quickly composed himself and looked at Liens seriously.
"Your current state is different from what Marshall described. It seems you've already crossed that hurdle… So fast. Even I took a long time to get through it."
