I can save her! Ava stumbles as she negligently lands on to a tree branch, her ragged gasps come and go; barely supplying enough air for her lungs. Her body is torn with scratches and deep cuts accompanied with the occasional bruise.
"AVA STOP PLEASE!" Aevia screams from above Ava, her tears streaming down her forehead as a Drifblim glides higher with the girl's body firmly wrapped in its flappy arms; holding a delicate balance between a loose grip and a strong hold.
"NO!" Ava hastily leaps for the next tree and misses, sliding to the edge of the cliff she didn't see coming. "AAAAHHH!" And Aevia plumets; to Ava the moment is in slow motion, to Aevia the only thing that's slow is Ava jolting herself off the edge to try and catch her.
Then with a sharp cracking sound it all goes black, the pool of warmth promptly turns cold and numb. Ava sees it all, her friend's lifeless corpse pierce through with the sharp cliff rocks, like a puppet only missing its strings.
At least her face is intact. Right?' and she finally makes contact with a tree, her spine bending around it, but Ava's mind doesn't process that she's in physical pain; her regret doesn't allow her. No...
