"That is the way to our leader's palace, let's go." The old elf said, and the group began moving toward the central structure of the treetop town.
They walked forward for several paces before coming to a halt in front of a massive dwelling perched upon an equally colossal, intricately painted tree.
The trunk was adorned with swirling patterns that seemed to pulse with a faint, internal rhythm.
"How exactly are we getting up there?" Grey asked, tilting his head back to squint at the distant balcony.
"Like this," the old elf replied simply.
Without a word of incantation, he began floating effortlessly above the soft soil; Damien followed suit, and the two of them drifted upward toward the canopy before landing gracefully in front of the entrance.
It was only the elder and Damien who accompanied Grey to the palace, as the rest of the warriors had turned back to their posts.
