Quickly reacting to the sudden threat, Grey raised an Earth wall just in time to block the palm strike.
To his immense surprise, however, the solid stone was instantly engulfed in flames upon contact; the sheer force of the blow pushed him back several feet from his original position.
'What the hell?' Grey thought, his eyes widening as he spotted a massive fireball heading toward him with rapid speed.
Without wasting a second, he shot out a fireball of his own to intercept it, but to his utter astonishment, Bale's projectile swallowed his own flame whole and continued its path toward him.
'His spell-casting speed is incredibly fast. I don't think I am imagining it, but he might actually be a bit more powerful than I currently am,' Grey realized.
He quickly channeled his mana, allowing Earth to begin surrounding his hands like a pair of rocky gauntlets.
