Third-person POV
Inara's crimson eyes stayed fixed on Zephyra, and despite the fact that the girl's silence was grating, Inara didn't move. She didn't even shift, or blink in the slightest. She simply waited, and the intensity of that stare pressed against Zephyra like a hand around her throat, and though she wanted to look away, she forced herself not to.
Finally, Inara let out a groan, dragging her hand across her face as though Zephyra's silence was nothing short of unbearable.
"Listen," Inara said sharply, her voice low but edged with frustration. "If you're standing there thinking that I'm asking about Astraea so I can hurt her, then you're terribly wrong, little human."
Zephyra's brows pulled together. She wasn't foolish enough to trust a demon, not even for a second, but the way she said it, blunt and almost annoyed rather than threatening, made her hesitate a little.
