Avere felt glad he might be able to meet other people soon, but still, he was interested in knowing the identity of the other two items, as well as the rest of the information and whatever else it was the messenger, a being he was certain he should not, in any way, mess with, was holding onto to give him.
The messenger was quick to continue as well, perhaps wanting to go to his next task, however rar it was, however long it would take him to wait, perhaps also the reason that Avere had been forced to wait for so relatively long for a god-like, or god-near, being, or perhaps even one that was above the realm of gods.
"Well, well, well, these next two items aren't really for you but more so for the other you that has already passed his test, for Leyk." he said, taking out a blank circle of black stone, curved edges, about three inches in diameter, sleek and quite entrancing, nothing special about it from what he could tell, something that seemed to be written all over Avere's face as the messenger started the first explanation for the first of the two items for Leyk.
"It's the compass of history, or at least a lesser copy of it." he said simply, though he was soon to spot Avere's face, sigh, and continue his explanation as if the boy just did not know anything about anything, quite mocking actually, but Avere supposed that he very much deserved that after the way he had started the conversation before knowing who the person was, not that that should have mattered in any real way.
"The great pillar of history was once given the historical compass as a gift, or perhaps he created it, that is not certain, but what is certain is that the historical compass is supposed to find things for you, no matter what, though this lesser copy is of course very limited in what it is able to find..." he put the compass that looked more like a blank slate of black stone, polished to perfection, next to the dial, Avere secretly thinking it might be about to fall down into the thick grass.
"So what does this thing show me?" Avere asked.
"People, monsters, the dead, the living, it shows organisms, it shows souls, it leads to exploration and it helps with some other things, the list is long but mostly really just living things, aside from some artifacts and ores, none of which should matter much to you, just basics really, such as gold, silver, cadon, and similar, it's really just non-optional skills of the compass, akin to the writing of a pen that also functions with other colours and can erase itself as well as being a ruler.
"That's a lot..." Avere muttered under his breath.
"It's really not, normally it should be able to find literally anything you can think about, so this thing is restrained to a ridiculous degree." the messenger added, slily laughing in the end, perhaps at Avere's confusion with such legendary artifacts he had never even heard about before, quickly reaching into his pouch once more.
"This one is rather special, a blade blessed by stagnation and motion, a rare working together, and yet pretty much useless in a normal battle as you should be soon to understand." he muttered as he took out what seemed to be a normal butter knife, silver and relatively sharp, bestowed with teeth so it would function as some kind of a saw should it be used as such.
It would not be able to be utilized in a fight indeed, and he had no way of understanding anything it was truly capable of doing, something that, once more, seemed to be written atop his face as the messenger quickly continued with a whole new explanation.
"It is quite the special blade, able to freely change form into anything one can imagine, " he said, the blade turning into a long and sharp one-sided blade, swung and with a decorative handguard able to easily catch coming places should it need to do so, " but there is one weakness one can not ignore with this creation, however special it might seem." he grinned as the blade transformed int a tiny blade, tinier than one normally used for butter and such, not even a real grip, but still sharp as ever, though not being able to cut the hand of the messenger.
"It does not kill." he said.
"But what if I just cut off a head?" Avere asked, not entirely comprehending what the man had just told him.
"It does not matter, the wound will be, the head will be separated, the blood will flow, the organs however, will not stop working, the person whose head was cut off will not be able to control their body, at least if the head is too far from the body, and if they bled too much, but they will always stay alive, no cut from this blade can kill, no matter what, that is absolute, an absolute decree given by the donator and two greater pillars, not even a god can break this..." he smiled slily.
"Though I have to admit that if a god was cut by this they will not die either, so there stands to question why they would attempt to change the function of it.
He paused for a moment, laying the blade atop the black stone compass.
"These two are, as I already said, for the other you, something that will surely make more sense when you actually meet the other you, when you understand how these items truly function, how they want to work, and much else." he took a breath, seeing that Avere was slightly disappointed.
"However, the information, however dry it might seem, that I have for you, is indeed for you and will allow you to use something pretty special about you... though you might have been able to do that later on either way, that would really depend on it." he uttered, sounding a bit dissapointed.
