Chapter 287 - Silver Ocean(52)

"You probably already know you were called the demon of the unknown back on that little world you were in before being banished to the realm of the forsaken, which, by the way, is it's actual name, mainly given, by, you guessed it, people inside there" he began, still tiredly, his voice constantly dripping with intense boredom, but his will seemingly refusing for him to go onto the next trial, almost as if there was something he wanted to avoid at all costs.

"But anyways, after you were banished to that plane the people in that world held an entire parade, the search party leader was greatly promoted, and your few friends that managed to follow your trace thought you were dead after some time of not understanding anything, even their magical tools they somehow managed to create telling them that Cades Kirgun had died, the very moment back on that wooden island, the moment he had broken himself apart, and the original had completely seized to exist, only a Sekaria, a faded radiance of the original, the light made flesh and consciousness, an experience in itself, the shadow of the soul, whatever you want to call it, remaining as you should already know." he ended the first part, almost sounding kind of excited at the end.

"I'll be honest, I have never met a Sekaria." he took a small break as Avere did not understand what he was talking about.

"Could you call him, if he listens to you?" he continued, now sounding quite excited if he was honest.

"I don't.. know what you are talking about..." a questioning voice rung out of Avere's mouth that stood agape for some time before he remembered to close it after he felt his teeth starting to quite literally feel colder than any ice he had ever consumed to cool himself down in the hottest summer, often summoned and cooled down by magicians hired in rather frequently founded shops.

"Really?" he said, sounding slightly more excited, something that was almost disturbing for the Karan Avere had come to know since that short time approximately ten or so minutes ago, but he quickly continued the last piece of what he wanted to say.

"I guess he hasn't revealed himself to the new you yet, Cades..."

"Cades is only a third of me, Karan."

"I'd rather you not call me by my name, but still, as you mgiht have already felt deep inside you, Cades is you, you are Cades, and Cades is the origin of the other two that you have already met, just as he was the origin of Leyk."

"Who is Leyk?"

"Not important, that has something to do with the contractual bond with motion itself I mentioned, as well as the creation of the soul bound ite-"

"... actually, you are pretty average in your journey compared to him right now from what I am able to see through your Sekaria.."

"But still, what do yo-"

A man stood behind Karan, one hulled in dark tatters, waving in the wind, covered in them from head to toe, looking like the caricature a child would have drawn of a stranger hiding under their bed in the deepest of nights, starting straight into Avere's soul with eyes that seemed to burn everything he had ever held dear, ripping something away from him that he did not even realize he held up until now.

There was no face in the being that seemed to be simply made of the tatters, no sense, no rule, there was simply the form, vague, but like that of an ehetrian with folded back wings, now hanging over the floor and oozing with pure darkness, offering a grave silhouette to the endless white of the great beast's corpse right behind the new arrival that might have always been here in the first place.

Avere threw himself back, landing on his back after breaking the seated position and scrambling to try and take out a blade he hadn't even realized to not be there in the first place, his wings suddenly gone all over again, causing him to grieve a bit later on, but not too much as he hadn't even really gotten used to it again to be saddened enough.

But after Avere had finally managed to grab his blade that had not been there before, simply having willed it into existence, now being made of cadon, though there was no way to truly differentiate, the creature simply stood there, letting out a kind of dark gurgling sound that made him feel humorous for some reason, the head of the figure moving up and down as though they were cackling at his clumsiness and at ow surprised he had been, at the mere fact that he had once more succeeded in making him react in unexpected ways.

Still, after about half a minute, Avere now being much more tense all over again, having felt not fear but surprise in the first place, but now realizing that this person had to be powerful, with Karan turning their head to tiredly look at the cloaked figure resembling a ehetrian, and with the figure laughing in the aforementioned weird way, if that truly was a laughter, the being began to speak.

" I guess we haven't technically met yet."

It's form began to grow more concrete, the oozing darkness stopping, the shadow becoming scaley skin akin to the dragon, just in a ehetrian-like pale complexion, the hair on the creature that had previously consisted only of tattered rags becoming normal, just like that which had once belonged to Cades, and much more as it continued on speaking.

"I am Cades, or rather, as Karan already said, I am what remains of him."

And as he finished saying that, there stood a six foot tall ehetrian, black wings folded behind their back, long unkempt black hair falling down into the face, oily from a long time of going unwashed, the muscles surprisingly untoned for a person that powerful, with even Leyk having become quite a bit more toned during his journey, and Avere being slightly more toned, be it still rather normal than supernatural, yellow eyes with black pupils glowing and watching him intently, looking for any kind of knowledge, hungry for wisdom and as sharp as that of a snake ready to bite the apple themselves, the face itself only slightly above average in the grand scheme of things.

To take it all together, it was Cades Kirgun, as he had stood on ehetria, be it with much more unwashed and oily hair, and glowing eyes that had surely not belonged to him on ehetria.

"Let's talk." Cades said, with Karan smirking excitedly for some reason, Avere having been excluded from this part of the conversation.

"
