Before Avere was even able to say anything the tired looking hero summoned a thin metal stick out of nowhere, a mere two foot long, and began to poke around in the fire, seemingly trying to make it bigger than it had been before, not saying anything, but quite obviously expecting something.
Avere took another piece of flesh, newly created, laid out on the ground in front of him, still cold, still dirty, now half-frozen rather than room temperature, and more than rough enough to make him chew his own jaw apart, but still food that he was quite fond of eating after having hungered for so long that it had felt like entire decades.
It was indeed a cruelling task to chew the food, that was for sure, but what was more interesting was the small crystals that had interwoven themselves within the food and had begun to slightly numb his mouth more than even before when he had not yet understood what a manifestation was supposed to be, or at least the roughest gist of it.
And with that, not even really thinking, or perhaps thinking that this was a question that at least didn't reference what had happened just now, just like Adelius had not talked about what had happened within what had been shown to Avere, same as Ukor who had just sent him away and not done anything, he asked his question, muttering silently, not even really expecting any kind of answer.
"What was this manifestation thing anyways?"
Nodding silently the hero was soon to respond, perhaps having expected this kind of question all along, be it that he seemed the slightest bit disappointed, perhaps because Avere hadn't been able to find it out himself, perhaps because he was just not content with his current situation, perhaps because, in fact, he did kind of wish to talk about what he had done, be it by horrible, unforgivable, accident, one that at least he would never truly forgive himself for, one he would never fully understand the severity of because he was too far away, much too powerful compared to other people of the same species, having lived for many more decades than a normal person of the species, known as 'humans' should have lived.
"The manifestation as it is often called, which you should have already understood, " he said tiredly, almost as if he had repeated this very answer countless times over, each person repeating it in shock and in shambles after what they had witnessed just mere moments before, " is the culmination of all the experiences, of all the stories and all the knowledge that one had gained to that point, it is the personification of ones goals they had worked towards, the example of ones picture in other's eyes, it is the ugly truth you might have not even been truly working towards, it is how others see you, and often times, also how you see yourself without truly realizing it in the first place, it is the truth and it is the greatest lie, sometimes it is randomness incarnate, sometimes it makes the most sense in the world, but it is always a great power when used correctly and a horrible weakness when used wrongly."
"How can something like that, like creating and controlling weapons be a weakness?"
"Rather simple really, when I first gained the power I was barely able to move, I was barely able to defend, I was barricaded within my own walls of ideals when it came to weapons, I was barricaded with the thought that weapons should always be powerful and destructive, I did not understand, even in the slightest, what the intent of the blacksmiths that made the iron I once used to collect, did when combined with my own skills."
He took a silent breath, blowing a bit of air and making the ghostly pale flames flicker in great pain, as if the last remnants of the dragon were struggling as the flames began to bow before the great hero.
"I had no idea how to do anything, I was simply unable to do things that now seem like they are the easiest things in the world when I look back in the past."
Ending the explanation, having talked in many ways and forms he could not entirely understand, courtesy of Avere's own inability to have a manifestation, he leaned back, and began to take another piece of the flesh that almost looked like something we would call 'beef jerky'.
"Still... how in the hell do you become a titan in the first place?" Avere exclaimed, sounding almost exasperated as he longed for more information than had been given to him with such easy by this person, someone that, to him, seemed almost like a fount of knowledge.
"You need to start being fully honest with yourself." he said clearly.
"What was that truth for yourself?"
"I began to understand that I did not care." he replied, his eyes calm as ever before, a faint shimmer of a flame of anger hidden deep within the dark expanse of the endless blackish eyes that Avere could have sworn had a different colour before.
"But... what?" Avere asked, not understanding anything he was actually asking, not understanding what they actually meant.
"You will understand at some point, that's always how it is." he poked in the fire once more, not really caring about it anymore, giving the stick to Avere to try and use it if he so wanted.
"And in the first place, you are already fairly close to the requirements for gaining your manifestation, with the Sekaria inside you, with that contractual bond with motion itself, with becoming known on a whole world as the 'demon of the unknown', with understanding basics you didn't care about before, with making a soulbound item, and so, so, so, much more."
"What are you talking about?"
"Huh, I guess you wouldn't know about all of that yet" he said, stretching his back to be completely upright, Avere now poking within the fire, ready to take some of the food outside that had seemingly appeared within it out of practically nowhere.
