Chapter 252 - Silver Ocean(18)

Cades watched Avere laugh once more, a few minutes this time, until he finally had enough of making the poor man suffer through something akin to torture through laughter and decided to transform himself once more.

It had been fun while it lasted, but he wanted things to progress, and like this he was constantly just thinking and thinking, a small curse that having a body would cost, and it made his head itch in a way even he wasn't able to scratch, that being from the inside.

So he simply became a form without a brain, he became Cades, but his head this time was hollow, and as such, he didn't think his brain or mind would race this much, even if that was only the case because he, himself believed it.

And finally, with a simple man within a black cloak, wearing damp violet eyes and a relatively handsome face that was more so average than truly handsome, with a serious and slightly annoyed expression, in front of him, Avere was able to calm down as well.

Finally, they could have an actual conversation, Cades believed, and Avere realized.

"So, how are you doing?" Cades asked, trying to assess the current mental situation of Avere, something he wasn't able to assess as easily now that he was figuratively stuck inside a body.

"Fine..." Avere looked at him with a confused gaze, "what do you mean?" he turned his head slightly, like a confused child, looking more so weird in a half-transformed state, a blob in ehetrian form mainly consisting of molten silver and bubbling bubbles giving it all a look as if they were already boiling.

For a moment the bright smile and the boiling flesh, for lack of a better name, almost gave Cades the longing to be able to vomit, but he was able to hide it quite elegantly, barely even twitching, unnoticed by Avere as he continued fluidly, still trying to assess the situation of the others inside that mind.

"Do you remember someone called Bensin?" he asked, carefully trying to ask someone that was a little less important than, for example, Julia, or Hecir, or his father, or the endless cold, the only thing that Arges would be able to remember.

But Avere just looked even more confused for a moment, not really listening, until he finally had some kind of light go up in the bag of his head and talked to Cades, or as he knew him now, John, something he really hadn't thought through.

"You are that voice Arges was always looking forward to, wasn't he?"

Oh good, Cades thought, let's just start with the most volatile and dangerous experiences stored inside that person, worst case scenario he becomes either a sadist or a masochist, what could be wrong, he mocked himself inwardly, acknowledging that this, at least to some part, was also his fault.

He was just hoping this wouldn't become an issue later, but at least for now Avere was still easily influenced and a bit unbeknown to dangers surrounding him, he didn't even realize where he was yet, after all, and it would take a bit more before the rank of a scribe was able to overwrite his mind slightly and improve his way of thinking, all of that was very well known to Cades.

"Who is Arges to you?" this was an important question, after all, if this was Arges, then he had messed up and this had already ended in Cades true death, the only real way of Cades surviving being if all live in peace and don't fight each other, such as with Avere.

"I don't know..."he said, being in a bit of pain.

"Do you want me to help you?" Cades asked, hopeful, after all, this was soon to turn a reality if he succeeded in this, turning Avere real, becoming the light of dominion twice over was no problem, he already was after all...

But... why was he this inconsistent right now...

It had to have something to do with Leyk, the current main anchor of his light, the guy was probably having some weird dreams or uneasy slumber right now, cursed be his name...

Nevertheless Avere was too out of it to realize that, he was quite keen on getting rid of this pain as well, and as such, soon, Cades readied himself, intent to wrap it all up, almost instantly at that.

Avere didn't understand what was meant, but he knew that he wanted him to help, perhaps because Cades was part of his origin, he was simply feeling at peace, almost like talking to ones grandfather, similarly to the way Leyk had reacted during their first true conversation.

This was weird... everything was moving both fast and slow... their minds were entangled and even Cades himself was thinking too much than was normal, in such cases he really preferred Leyk, that guy at least had the decency to think quickly and along a red string, rather than being all over the place and not even really there completely, like Avere who was still incomplete.

It was chaotic, but he knew that Avere had agreed, and as such, he was allowed to enter the subconsciousness of him, temporarily gluing it together by himself, using himself as the metaphorical glue, and Avere would truly be born.

Though, he had a small theory in his mind that, if true, would make things even more interesting when they finally became real, the cross being soon to vanish from what he could tell, perhaps even sooner than when eh would finally glue it all together.

And with that chaos of thoughts he should have never thought, Cades entered the realm of Avere, their mind, the mind of a being born through chaos, a being that, right now, didn't have a real gender, a gender to be defined by, a gender to understand, they simply had experiences, and he was interested in seeing the gender they would first take the form off, perhaps, in accordance to the great pillar's wishes, the gender of a new experience.

In that case perhaps he would have something to laugh about inside the realm of thought...

Wait a second... hadn't he thought that before...?

Actually, hadn't he been repeating his thoughts all this time...?

Well, who cares...
