Chapter 251 - Silver Ocean(17)

The man's voice was deep and incredibly manly, sounding rough and old, experienced and utterly powerful, though not intimidating out of obvious reasons, as Avere was simply losing it and laughing for the literally first time in his life, actually probably one of the first action she had ever taken, perhaps a bit funny when one thought about it....

"Did you calm down now?"

Had he been able to then Avere would have held his stomach and fallen off of the great cross through the sheer amount he was laughing, but as it was the laughing was simply accelerating the swinging of the endlessly big structure and slowly helping him escape, the mood lightening and heating up, just like the atmosphere and the surrounding air, perhaps all a plan of Cades who knew more about this place than almost anyone else, and perhaps even a lot more about Avere than Avere knew about himself.

In the end, Rondel had been a part of Cades, it had always been there, just not exactly there, it had become a part of who Cades was, just like Arges, and just like Avere was able to, Cades now remembered the eighty-or-so years of experience and an entirely different kind of magic as well, and in this place, he had been able to use the experiences around to shape himself into reality, a body made out of Cadon, just like Avere, a real body.

And just like that, be it only temporarily, Cades had returned to life, no more stuck in the mind, he had entered reality, and though Avere was busy laughing his teeth off, clenching his stomach so hard but unable to hold it that it felt as if he was about to explode, Cades was happy, even if he had to make himself look so utterly ridiculous for a small bit as to distract Avere from the sheer chaos of this place.

The question had been meaningless, that Cades now realized, his body having slightly clouded his judgement for a little bit, courtesy of instinctual knowledge not being able to complete exist in what he had become right now, be it only for a little bit, he had become something akin to a true person after all.

It was a bit cloudy when he thought back, but he was able to easily grasp the knowledge when he tried, it had simply become a bit unhandy and annoying, as if he had to grab a simply apple using a fifty-pound power tool despite it being just a few feet away and laying atop a table where he himself had once before put it.

For now, he felt that he just had to wait slightly though, waiting for Avere to stop laughing, for Cades to get a true word in...

After half a minute he did indeed stop, but after looking up, seeing the bored but still utterly serious and manly face of Cades current form, he fell right back into the laughter that sounded so carefree and childish, a laughter he just simply wasn't able to hold back.

And perhaps, just a tiny bit, Cades was also enjoying the constant laughter at his appearance, he had put in a lot of effort for it to appear like this after all...

Inside the mindscape he had practically sawn this outfit by metaphysical hand and made the hat just the same, he had to even enter toddler memories to make it like that, it had been a lot of work, but it had also been very relaxing, that he had to admit.

It was not normal for a subconsciousness to have a hobby, in truth it was actually very unsettling, but still, he had one, and though he refused to acknowledge it, that had some reasons in him losing a real body to take care of, so he was quite happy to see someone else enjoy the bodies he had made, just like when Leyk had reacted to his childish girl form, something that would soon hit him as well...

He had even asked Arges, and discovered something, most of the beings stemming from Cades had a interesting and slightly unsettling humour... just like Julia, Rondel's former wife had been infested with the laughs during her entire marriage, warming his heart as he had constantly been watching.

Oh, and speaking of watching constantly, there w-

"Hhahahahahah..... Wait" he breathed heavily, still chucking and seemingly yearnign desperately to hold his belly that looked to be in quite a lot of pain by now " wait a second, wait, wait..." he laughed a bit more...

But Cades had already been ripped out of his thoughts... huh... that wasn't good.... 'his' thoughts...

Still, he watched the struggling Avere try talking as he still saw the big manly pirate in front of him, still utterly absurd, something Cades seemed to have forgotten about, though still happy at the reaction, however humiliating some might think this was...

It took another minute before he was able to calm down enough to finally talk, though Avere was still heaving and his voice was continuing to rustle with sporadic fits of giggling and underhanded snorts, absolutely not entirely calm right now, still utterly lost in how absurd that outfit was.

"...who are you?" he laughed a bit more, his head banging backwards, slightly twitching as he hit the metal cross, causing pain to race through his body, before quickly continuing, trying to listen over his own snorting, tears now having found his way into his eyes that had long since been dry from the cold.

"I am.." he should probably use an Alias to not confuse Avere and have to explain it all, he quickly realized, ".." the break between sentences became awkwardly long, but in the end he picked the name he had also used with Arges, "....John.."

Avere laughed all over again, spit coming out of his mouth that had long been dry befroe this day, before everything had changed so very abruptly, before a being without experiences took the body, a body that was made of experiences as long as it was here, a body that was now starting to change according to Avere's new being.
