The situation on Lobito Island is no less complex than in Struwa.
After the end of the military dictatorship that year, Lobito embarked on the path to freedom and democracy. Elites from all walks of life, through democratic elections, determined the country's future. In the primary stage of democracy, it is inevitable to maximize the negative effects of democracy, which led to a serious division among all social strata of Lobito Island. Street movements were incessant, and those dissatisfied with the status quo took up arms to resist. For over a decade, there hadn't been a stable government, and without economic development to speak of, the country could only sustain its daily expenses through tourism and a vast arms trade.
According to Dong Chao, his teammates were surrounded in a small village called Sarate to the southeast of Lobito Island, with more than twenty people, who had been besieged for twenty-four hours already.
