The Congressional chamber was in absolute chaos. Wanda Maximoff's bold declaration had left the world watching in stunned silence, but inside the hall, it had set off a firestorm. Politicians shouted over one another, security personnel exchanged worried glances, and the press scrambled to report every second of the event.
At the heart of it all, Wanda Maximoff stood unwavering, flanked by Natasha Romanoff, Talia Stark, and Gwen Stacy, each of them dressed in commanding, elegant attire, a striking contrast to the flustered and enraged officials surrounding them.
Senator Robert Kelly's face was a deep shade of red, his hands gripping the podium so tightly his knuckles turned white. He could barely contain his panic and rage as he realized that this mutant woman—this foreign queen—had just flipped the entire debate on its head.
"This—this is outrageous!" Kelly stammered, his voice cracking as he tried to regain control of the room. "Queen Maximoff, you have no authority to interfere in American policy! This is a matter of national security, not a place for a foreign leader to spread her mutant propaganda!"
Wanda smiled coolly, eyes gleaming with amusement. "Oh, but Senator, you made it a global issue the moment you decided to criminalize an entire group of people based on their birth."
The room fell into hushed tension as reporters leaned in, capturing every word.
Kelly clenched his fists. "We are protecting human lives!"
"At the expense of mutant lives," Wanda countered smoothly. "And let's not pretend this is about safety. You fear us because we are different, and rather than acknowledge that fear, you seek to control us."
Her gaze sharpened as she stepped forward, each word dripping with authority.
"Sokovia will not allow mutants to be hunted. We will not bow to outdated, fear-driven policies. We will rise, and we will thrive, with or without your permission."
The room erupted again, but before Kelly could shout over her, another voice cut through the noise.
"Queen Maximoff raises an interesting point," came the measured, authoritative voice of Professor Charles Xavier.
All eyes turned to the bald, wheelchair-bound figure of Charles Xavier, his expression calm but his intelligent eyes scanning the room with quiet authority.
Originally, Xavier had planned to de-escalate tensions, to persuade the government that mutants could coexist peacefully.
But now, standing in the presence of Wanda, seeing how she had ignited something in the people, he realized the debate had already shifted.
"I have always believed," Xavier began, "that humans and mutants can live together in peace."
He turned to Kelly. "But peace is not achieved through fear and oppression. Queen Maximoff has simply pointed out what should be obvious—if you continue to treat mutants as a threat, you will only create more division, not unity."
The politicians shifted uncomfortably. Some nodded, others whispered among themselves, recognizing that the debate was no longer one-sided.
Xavier turned toward Wanda, his expression thoughtful.
"Your words will inspire many," he admitted. "But I caution you—movements built on defiance often spark conflict. I fear that your vision, as noble as it may be, will be met with violence."
Wanda tilted her head, intrigued. "Violence, Charles, is what happens when people refuse to listen. I am here today to give you all the opportunity to listen. What happens next is on you."
The weight of her words hung in the air, and even Xavier could not argue with them.
From the back of the room, another voice joined the conversation—this one deep, measured, but laced with an unmistakable power.
"I must say," Magneto mused as he stepped into the light, "I did not expect to find myself agreeing with royalty today."
Murmurs filled the chamber as Magneto—one of the world's most feared mutant leaders—made his way forward. His piercing blue eyes studied Wanda carefully, a glimmer of both respect and curiosity in them.
"The humans in this room will not admit it," Magneto said, turning toward Kelly, whose face visibly paled at the accusation.
"They see not just a mutant," Magneto continued, "but a beautiful, powerful woman leading a nation they cannot control. That is what terrifies them the most."
Wanda arched an eyebrow. "You flatter me, Magneto."
His lips curled in amusement. "I only speak the truth, Scarlet Queen."
He turned his attention back to the chamber. "I have long preached that humans will never accept us, that they will always seek to chain us, to control us. And yet, here you stand, Queen Maximoff, proving that there is another way. But tell me—when they inevitably come for your kingdom, will you be merciful? Or will you finally realize what I have always known?"
The room held its breath, waiting for Wanda's answer.
Wanda's gaze was unreadable. Then, with a slow, confident smirk, she answered:
"I do not start wars, Erik." She let her words settle. "I finish them."
Kelly had had enough. His face was red, his body shaking as he turned to the room.
"Are you all listening to this?!" he practically shrieked. "She is a threat! A dangerous and manipulative woman who has entire countries falling at her feet!"
His eyes darted to the cameras. "America will not bow to some mutant queen!"
Wanda exhaled dramatically, turning to her girls.
"Well," she said, stretching lazily, "now he's just making me sound irresistible."
Natasha smirked. "You are irresistible."
Talia leaned over to Gwen and whispered, "I think he's scared people are going to start thirst-following her."
Gwen snorted, struggling to keep a straight face.
Kelly slammed his hands on the podium. "Security! Remove her from the chamber immediately!"
The guards hesitated, looking at one another.
And then Wanda turned to them, her gaze sharp, her presence radiating regal authority.
"Are you trying to lay hands on a Queen of a sovereign nation?"
The room froze.
The security team stiffened, realizing the weight of the moment. If they moved against Wanda, it would be seen as a hostile act against Sokovia—an act of war.
The officials in the room were paralyzed.
Wanda took a slow breath and turned back to the cameras, addressing the world once again.
"Mutants of the world," she said, her voice powerful and clear. "They fear us. They always will. But fear is a weak excuse for oppression. We will not be shackled. We will not be controlled. And we will not hide."
She smiled, her scarlet aura flaring softly around her fingers.
"You are not alone. And you never will be again."
With that, Wanda turned and walked out, her girls following without a single ounce of hesitation.
The world had heard her loud and clear.
And there was no going back.
