The United States Capitol was buzzing with tension. The hearing on the Mutant Registration Act had drawn a massive crowd—government officials, military leaders, the press, and representatives from various international entities. The eyes of the world were glued to their television screens, watching history unfold.
At the center of it all stood Senator Robert Kelly, the leading advocate of the Mutant Registration Act, standing at the congressional podium, delivering his carefully crafted speech filled with fear-mongering and propaganda.
"These so-called mutants," Kelly declared, his voice booming through the chamber, "are not like us. They walk among us, hiding their abilities, and at any moment, they could destroy everything we hold dear. We have seen their unchecked power cause chaos in our cities, threaten our children, and challenge the very fabric of our society."
The camera panned to images on the large screens behind him, showing destructive mutant attacks, including footage of Magneto's Brotherhood. The images were carefully curated to spread fear, showing only the moments of destruction, never the mutants who had saved lives.
"For too long, we have let this go unchecked," Kelly continued, gripping the podium. "It is time to take action. With the Mutant Registration Act, we will finally have control over these individuals. We will know who they are, where they live, and what powers they possess. No more secrets. No more hidden dangers lurking in the shadows."
Applause erupted from several politicians and conservative officials in the room. The tension in the air was palpable.
And then—
The double doors of the congressional chamber slammed open.
The room fell into stunned silence as four women entered, their presence commanding immediate attention.
Wanda Maximoff led the way, dressed in a stunning, form-fitting crimson gown, the rich fabric clinging to her body in all the right places, accentuated by an elegant crown-like headpiece that sat atop her flowing dark red locks. Every step she took radiated power and confidence, her Scarlet Queen aura undeniable.
Flanking her on either side were Natasha Romanoff, Talia Stark, and Gwen Stacy, each of them dressed to perfection.
Natasha was in a sleek, black tactical dress, subtly flaunting her curves while exuding her usual dangerous grace. She walked with the casual confidence of a trained assassin, her piercing green eyes scanning the room, already analyzing potential threats.
Talia Stark, ever the walking embodiment of wealth and chaos, wore an extravagant yet business-appropriate dark red blazer and pencil skirt ensemble, accessorized with gold accents that practically screamed "I am richer than all of you combined." Her smug grin indicated she was already enjoying the chaos they were about to unleash.
And then there was Gwen Stacy, who, unlike the other three, looked slightly uncomfortable in her elegant but edgy white suit with a black undershirt, her signature blonde locks neatly tied back. While she tried to maintain a serious expression, it was clear that she wasn't used to being part of such an over-the-top dramatic entrance.
Gasps and murmurs filled the chamber.
The camera feeds zoomed in on the new arrivals, capturing every detail of their entrance for the world to see.
Senator Kelly's face contorted in irritation as he recognized Wanda Maximoff. "What is the meaning of this interruption? This is a congressional hearing, not a fashion show."
Wanda ignored him completely as she strode up to the podium with absolute authority, her crimson dress flowing behind her like a regal cape. With graceful ease, she brushed past the speaker of the chamber and took her place at the microphone.
She leaned in slightly, her scarlet lips curving into a smirk, and said, "I believe the entire world is listening, yes?"
Silence.
She lifted her gaze, making direct eye contact with the cameras broadcasting live across the globe.
Then, with the perfect balance of elegance and dominance, she introduced herself:
"I am Queen Wanda Maximoff of Sokovia, the Scarlet Queen."
A collective gasp rippled through the room.
Not just Wanda Maximoff. Not just some rogue Avenger.
Queen Wanda Maximoff.
The implications were immediate. She had just asserted her status as a sovereign ruler, placing herself on equal footing with world leaders.
The Speaker of Congress cleared his throat nervously. "Miss Maximoff, you have not been scheduled to—"
"Queen Maximoff," she corrected him, her voice smooth as silk, but carrying a subtle warning beneath the politeness.
The Speaker faltered, adjusting his glasses. "...Queen Maximoff, this is highly irregular."
"Is it?" Wanda tilted her head slightly. "Considering you are discussing a piece of legislation that would criminalize an entire subset of the population based solely on their birth, I would say this meeting is already quite irregular."
Murmurs of agreement spread through some of the international representatives present.
Senator Kelly's patience was wearing thin. "With all due respect, Queen Maximoff, this is a matter of American policy. Your interference is unnecessary."
Wanda let out a soft laugh. "Oh, but it is entirely necessary. You see, you are not simply debating mutant registration within your borders. You are setting a global precedent for how mutants will be treated. And as a world leader, I will not stand by and allow such blatant discrimination to be normalized."
Kelly's face darkened. "We are simply ensuring public safety. Mutants are dangerous."
Wanda arched an eyebrow. "And humans are not? I seem to recall that every major war and atrocity in history has been caused by normal humans—not mutants."
The room tensed at the sharp jab.
She continued, her tone shifting from mocking to serious.
"Sokovia will not stand for this oppression. Effective immediately, my country is declaring itself a sanctuary nation for all mutants and superpowered individuals—regardless of their past affiliations, so long as they abide by Sokovian law."
This caused an uproar.
Politicians shouted in protest. Journalists scrambled to report the breaking news. The military officials whispered amongst themselves, already discussing what this meant for global stability.
Senator Kelly slammed his hands on the podium. "You're giving refuge to terrorists and criminals!"
Wanda smirked. "No, Senator. I am giving refuge to the persecuted. If you fear mutants so much, perhaps you should ask yourselves why so many would rather flee to my country than live under your rule."
Talia laughed, clapping Wanda on the back. "Oh, this is getting good."
Natasha just smirked, while Gwen shifted uncomfortably, knowing this was going to make Wanda public enemy number one in the U.S.
From his seat in the audience, Magneto watched with intrigue, his gaze lingering on Wanda for a long moment.
Charles Xavier, however, looked concerned, as if realizing just how much Wanda's actions were about to change the game.
The Speaker of Congress finally tried to regain order, shouting for security to remove Wanda but no one moved.
"Honestly… such an embarrassing display of fear. Imagine thinking you can control a storm by writing it down on paper."
With that, Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Queen, left Congress in stunned silence as everyone awaited the response of senator Kelly.
