Raul asked, "And why did your family decide to hide all this from her?"
Harold paused momentarily, as if thinking about what to say, and remained silent. Meanwhile, Starley was eavesdropping at the door. Then Harold sighed. "Because after waking up from the surgery, Starley forgot the memories of the kidnapping. I, Victoria, and Nathan didn't want to force her to remember such a sad memory. So we decided just to keep it hidden."
Raul had already guessed all of that. So Starley did forget all their memories there. But Raul wasn't too disappointed to hear it; instead, he felt relieved that Starley was never haunted by memories of when they were slaves like Raul.
Starley blinked her eyes upon hearing that. Could this be the reason her family was so protective of her? Starley thought. All this time, she had felt their protective behavior was excessive. However, there was a reason behind her father's and Nathan's protectiveness. "So, how did you find Starley?" Raul asked.
