"Despite the extraordinary circumstances of my birth, I was welcomed by a gentle and loving family. They loved me, even when my existence represented danger to all of them. For the first time, I felt like I belonged to a real family." — Thoughts of Miquella, in the lap of her grandfather, the God-Emperor of Humanity.
----------
The news of Naerys's pregnancy quickly reached the ears of Rhaella, Daenerys, Rhaenys, and Visenya. The four women surrounded Naerys in the middle like giants looking at a dwarf, making the princess feel embarrassed, especially with eyes full of teasing.
"I said she wouldn't last long; sex is good." Rhaenys commented with a victorious smile. "I won the bet; you two owe me twenty billion credits, Dany and Vy."
Daenerys promptly gave the ten billion Imperial Credits with a defeated expression. Visenya, who had also lost the bet, transferred the other ten billion with an equally defeated expression.
Naerys's face turned red; knowing that her mothers were betting on when she would lose her virginity was extremely embarrassing. She wished a hole would open in the ground, and she would jump in without any hesitation.
Rhaella looked at her two daughters and niece with a helpless look; they were obviously thousands of years old but acted like teenagers. "It's not the time for this, but when Aenar is going to kill the man who dared to profane his favorite daughter. We have to help, or he will be killed."
Although Alysanne was Aenar's heir, the one who spent the most time with the Emperor was Naerys herself. That's why the feelings he had for Naerys were deeper than those for his other sons and daughters.
"The Imperial Father already knows." Naerys spoke with a helpless expression. She only said she was pregnant but never said she was still a virgin and her vows were still intact.
"He didn't kill your secret husband?" Daenerys asked with a surprised expression. From what she knew of Aenar, he could very well kill anyone who dared to deflower his daughter. So, knowing that the man was still alive was a surprise.
With the sound of the doors opening, Aenar entered the room with Leda following behind him with an expression full of curiosity. "She is still a virgin." Hearing Aenar, all the women looked at Naerys with curious and confused expressions.
"Although it's possible with genetic engineering, was it necessary?" Rhaella asked with a confused tone. If her granddaughter wanted, there would be at least a few million suitors. Did her granddaughter not like men?
"I haven't broken my vows, Imperial Grandmother." Naerys couldn't help but speak with an aggrieved tone. She had abandoned her duty as a woman, titles, and possessions by becoming a priestess of her father. These thousand years of celibacy only strengthened her belief and determination.
"What's going on, dear?" Visenya asked with a genuinely confused expression. She felt that things were strange. As for whether Aenar was the child's father, that never crossed the mind of any of the women present.
Although House Targaryen was exotic with its customs, it was not so exotic to the point of father and daughter marrying.
"In short, the Universe is trying to balance the forces of Order and Chaos and used Naerys as a vessel to conceive an extraordinary being." Aenar replied with a calm tone, looking at his daughter's belly with a touch of dissatisfaction.
He didn't like at all that his daughter became a typical example like Shmi Skywalker. In his eyes, this was no different from rape; how could he be happy to see his precious daughter fall into this abyss?
Furthermore, being the mother of the son of destiny or the daughter of destiny was not a glorious fate. Look at Shmi, look at Lyanna, look at Gine (Goku's Mother). To strengthen the determination or guide the destined one to power, the destined one has to suffer a lot, and that included losing their parents. Aenar explained what could happen, which made the smiles of Rhaella, Daenerys, Visenya, and Rhaenys disappear; there was no more happiness and fun.
"Abort the Child." Daenerys said with a calm tone, with no murderous intent towards the child, only concern for her daughter. "As for what the universe will do, tell it to go to hell with its shitty balance."
Unlike Aegon, Daenerys kept all her maternal love for Naerys; how could she allow her daughter to suffer any danger because of a child forcibly generated in her daughter's womb?
Daenerys's words made the women around nod their heads. Naerys's safety was more important than any child resulting from a rape. Even if it was cruel to the child, they prioritized Naerys's safety over the safety of a child they had never seen or had any affection for.
Aenar frowned and rubbed his forehead; he also wanted this baby to disappear from this universe forever. It was a danger he didn't want to happen, but the power of destiny was unpredictable and difficult to defend against. Was it that easy to kill a son or daughter of destiny?
"Although I wish the same, the decision is Naerys's." Aenar spoke, interrupting the conversation between his wives and grandmother. Although it was dangerous, it was not something he couldn't solve, even if it meant suffering for it.
All eyes were on Naerys's small figure.
Naerys did not answer immediately and stroked her belly with a curious look, but with an almost maternal tenderness.
Looking at his daughter stroking her belly with a smile, Aenar showed a helpless look. If it were Alysanne, things would have been simpler; he had no doubt that Alysanne would abort the child. But with Naerys, it was different.
Despite Naerys's power, Aenar never thought of making her heir; his daughter was too emotional. And controlling a Galactic Imperium with emotion was the same as putting the Imperium into total chaos.
However, to Aenar's surprise, Naerys looked at him and spoke with a gentle tone. "If the Imperial Father wishes, I can abort the child in my womb."
There was no pressure, no malice, or any negative feeling, but Aenar felt an enormous weight on his shoulders. Looking at his daughter who smiled gently, he smiled helplessly. He was responsible for trillions of lives killed in the Great Expansion, enslaved countless civilizations, and used them as miners.
But here he was, feeling pressured to kill a life that hadn't even been born yet. However, looking into Naerys's eyes, he only saw unconditional trust in him. Showing a smile, he stroked Naerys's head and spoke with a gentle yet determined tone:
"Fuck the universe; if it wants my granddaughter to do something for it, I'll show it what Fire and Blood is. To defend our family, I will destroy every last atom of this universe's creation."
The smile on Naerys's lips grew; she touched her belly and whispered with a gentle tone. "You haven't even been born yet, and you're already causing trouble."
Seeing this, Daenerys, who was extremely worried about Naerys, let out a sigh full of helplessness, but there was a smile on her lips. Although she had known for a long time, she felt she had made the best choice of her life by marrying a man like this.
"I won't cause you trouble, Imperial Father?" Naerys asked with a gentle tone, but her eyes were slightly worried. How could it be easy to fight against the will of the universe? If it brought danger to her family, she could very well isolate herself on some wild planet and never leave there.
"It's alright; your father is powerful, and even if it is the universe, it has to bow to me and our family." Aenar uttered extremely arrogant words, but his words only brought a feeling of security to everyone present.
"To avoid too much repercussion, Naerys cannot be announced as pregnant." Daenerys commented with a calm tone. She could imagine what would happen if the news that Naerys was pregnant got out. The moral pillar that supported all the good young women of the Imperium would fall.
"She can be announced as my daughter." Rhaella said with a smile. As a widowed woman, having a daughter will not impact the Imperium's reputation or affect anyone.
Naerys looked at her grandmother with gratitude; she expected her daughter to be raised in the shadows, but seeing everyone helping brought a warm and gentle smile.
"Naerys, you cannot leave my side. Leda will protect you, and under no circumstances, answer anything or leave the Imperial Palace." Aenar warned with a solemn tone. Although he was confident in protecting his daughter and granddaughter, he knew he was not omnipresent and omnipotent.
"Yes, Imperial Father." Naerys spoke with a respectful tone while smiling brightly.
