Chapter 315 - Chapter 316 - The Siege of Isstvan V (III)

"May the God Emperor bless me so that my pistol returns empty and my Chainsword stained with the blood of heretics." Prayer of an Astartes during the siege of Isstvan V in the Imperial year 1456.

---------

With Aenar's orders, the Indomitable Heart Legion began to move efficiently.

When all the Astartes put on their helmets, they heard the controller's voice sounding in their ears.

[Under the personal orders of the God Emperor, the Astartes are ordered to decimate chimeras and any accomplices on the Planet's surface. Without mercy, pity, or compassion.]

[Mission Name: The Blasphemer.

Danger Level: Moderate.

Objective: Exterminate the Enemies of the Imperium!]

[Attention, Astartes: the descent ramps are being released. Prepare for landing.]

With the controller's words, the ramps were released, and the Astartes saw the planet's orbit. Holding their Chainswords, the helmet eyes of the Astartes lit up; they carried pistols, machine guns, and grenades.

Each of their steps resonated with a loud and powerful noise, showing how massive and thick their armor was. And indeed it was, weighing about three tons, not counting weapons and other objects.

"Long live the Emperor!" One of the Astartes shouted, after which he simply jumped from the ramp, falling from the planet's orbit without a parachute.

All the Astartes, in all the spaceships, imitated the first Astartes and began to jump towards the planet from orbit.

Dozens of thousands of comets appeared in the sky of Isstvan V. The meteor show naturally caught the attention of the planet's inhabitants. The planetary authorities thought that the Astartes were just resting in orbit, but they never imagined that the Astartes entered the planet in this way.

The Astartes, who had already entered the planet, did not care about the extremely high heat around their armor and hit the ground like missiles. Thuds and more thuds sounded; huge craters appeared with the impact, and more craters were appearing.

[Target locations have been marked on the map.]

[Good Luck, Astartes, Glory to the Imperium!]

With the controller's words, all the Astartes saw fifty red dots on the green map, which appeared before them behind the helmet. There was no need for orders; the ten thousand Astartes entered battle formation, divided into five battalions.

"Glory to the Imperium!!!" The united and conviction-filled cry reverberated like thunder.

All took a step forward at the same time. With each of their steps, the ground trembled and spread for miles, scaring people and creating panic. However, the Astartes did not care about this; they only cared about orders and nothing else.

The Twenty-Two Legions of the Imperium were the most disciplined armies in the known universe; they were not something that could be stopped by the fear of the local population.

After traveling for miles, the ten thousand Astartes divided into five legions and went in different directions. If someone looked at the map, they would see that all ten thousand orange dots were heading towards the fifty red dots.

Edward, who was part of the Indomitable Heart Legion, was a lieutenant and one of the most experienced warriors in the legion, having followed Titus for a thousand long years. He was a brave man, full of courage and heroism. He defended the Emperor's doctrine across entire worlds. He killed as much as he saved.

His Chainsword spun in an arc in the air and tore the chimera in front of him in half. Blood, guts, and gore bathed the ground in an instant. It wasn't just him fighting; at that moment, other Astartes were fighting fiercely; there were at least seven or ten thousand chimeras.

Although they were defective products, they still possessed strength that no normal human could achieve. Edward continued fighting; in one hand, he used the Chainsword, and in the other, the Astartes pistol exploded heads as if exploding a watermelon.

BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!!

Four shots exploded four heads at the same time. Edward moved his body to the side and cut off another chimera's head with his Chainsword. Putting the pistol back in its holster, he grabbed a chimera by the neck and ripped off the creature's head along with its spine.

Brutal, fast, and efficient.

There was no hesitation in his blows; he seemed like a machine so accustomed to killing that he no longer saw any error in his actions. In terms of brutality, he only lost to the Orks, who loved battles.

"Lieutenant Edward, the laboratory entrance has been found!" A soldier approached him and spoke with a muffled voice from behind his helmet. The dark green armor was covered in blood from head to toe, showing how bloody the battle was.

Edward looked at the data being displayed on his helmet and spoke in a cold tone. "Two Astartes follow me to enter."

The Lieutenant stepped forward, and two other Astartes followed behind Edward. Looking at the massive metal door, Edward simply kicked the door, opening a hole through it. After that, the lieutenant used his hands to open a passage large enough for him and the other two to enter.

"Pistols." Edward said as he pointed forward; the other two Astartes followed orders and drew their respective weapons.

In a small battle formation, the three Astartes advanced through the dark and silent corridor. However, Edward's extremely keen senses still noticed a strange smell beyond growls coming from afar.

Suddenly, Edward noticed the ground shaking, showing that a large number of enemies were coming towards him! "FIRE!" He shouted coldly as he repeatedly pulled the trigger.

The bullets illuminated the dark corridor, showing a horde of chimeras extremely close to each other coming towards the three Astartes. Roars, growls, wails, and cries of pain were heard from these chimeras.

The three Astartes shot as if there was no tomorrow; shot after shot, heads exploding, chimera limbs flying everywhere. Blood filled the corridor with an extremely strong and metallic smell.

Two minutes later, silence returned to the environment; apart from some weak and almost imperceptible growls, the chimera horde was exterminated.

Stepping on a head, crushing it, Edward threw the empty magazine aside and reloaded his pistol. Putting the pistol away, he began to kill anything that was still alive using his Chainsword.

The other two Astartes began to investigate the entire laboratory. There were corpses floating in a suspicious liquid inside glass tanks. These corpses had animal parts and altered DNA. The goal was to accelerate the natural evolution of things, but it obviously hadn't worked.

"Lieutenant, there are countless reports from a so-called Doctor Marcus, reporting progress on experiments with humans and other humanoid races." The Astartes spoke to Edward.

Without needing Edward to report to the Command Bridge, the controller's voice sounded in his ear.

[Lieutenant Edward, our Divinity has ordered the destruction of everything.]

"Place explosives; we're going to blow this place up." Edward said in a cold tone; he grabbed a handful of grenades and twisted the top of the grenade. A count of ten lights lit up with the initiation of the grenade.

The Astartes obeyed and positioned the grenades in strategic places where the explosion would cause the most damage to the underground building's structure.

The three Astartes finished their work and left with calm, unhurried steps, as if they didn't care about the explosion. As they were about to pass through the exit, the ground shook, and everything seemed to tremble.

However, the Astartes did not care about this and calmly left the laboratory.

In the next moment, a gigantic explosion sounded, reverberating through the sky. Large chunks of earth flew into the sky, falling like meteors and colliding with the ground, fragmenting upon impact.

"Let's continue, lads." Edward spoke loudly, walking to the next extermination target. Behind him, two thousand Astartes accompanied the lieutenant without any hesitation. Honestly, they looked like a horde of extremely powerful mechanized monsters.

They were unstoppable, brutal, and forged in discipline and faith. They knew no fear, nor did they even know what that word meant.

This same scene was happening in many places on the planet, a unilateral massacre without any resistance from the enemies.

The Astartes killed and killed; blood stained the planet while the colossal imperial warships flew over the planet in search of any abnormality.

In orbit, Aenar and Tyrion observed everything with emotional gazes.

"We are invincible, Majesty." Tyrion said with a tone full of pride, seeing the effectiveness of just one Astartes Legion; there were twenty-one others equally powerful!

"Not yet, old friend, not yet." Aenar replied with a smile; he was more than satisfied with his Legion; the twenty-two legions were his pride. His greatest creation after the Primarchs themselves.

Everything was ready for the arrival of the demonic hordes in the future.

Note : I spent the whole day with my mother at the hospital; the woman simply drank minimal amounts of water for a long time and developed gallstones. There are about nine or eleven stones; the exact number cannot be seen, but there are many.

Drink water... in my mother's words, it feels like someone is constantly punching her in the stomach; even breathing hurts...
