Chapter 314 - Chapter 315 - The Siege of Isstvan V (II)

"Long Live the Emperor!!!" Battle cry of the Astartes Legions before a battle.

----------------

Isstvan System – Planet Isstvan V.

In orbit of the planet, hundreds of spaceships exuded an intimidating aura. It was the Indomitable Heart Legion of Primarch Titus.

On the Command Bridge of the Gloriana-class Battleship called Dragon's Heart, Titus could be seen standing, looking at the planet with a cold and indifferent gaze. Beside him was a man two and a half meters tall, with blond hair and eyes of different colors, one green and the other black.

It was the Duke of House Lannister and First Imperial Counselor, Tyrion Lannister.

"Lord Primarch, what do you recommend to decimate the traitors?" Tyrion asked, looking at the planet with a calm gaze. The news of the Isstvan V rebellion was a complete shock to the high-ranking officials and senators of the Imperium.

Blood Magic was strictly forbidden to study, no matter who you are, you cannot touch blood magic. This was an iron rule in the Imperium, but Tyrion never imagined that a fool would actually dare to study blood magic.

"The entire surface of the planet will be destroyed." Titus's answer was simple, decimate until no one remained on the planet's surface.

"Won't the evidence be destroyed?" Tyrion was surprised. In his eyes, it was better to find the culprit.

"It's not our problem, the Emperor ordered that our objective is to seek, destroy, and decimate." Titus replied in a calm tone, sitting in his main seat. With a body three and a half meters tall, even sitting he looked incredibly imposing.

Tyrion, who was an intelligent man, understood the implications in Titus's words. The Emperor already knew who the culprit was; they were only sent to destroy the rebels who conspired with the culprit.

However, knowing the Emperor, Tyrion felt that things were not that simple. According to the Emperor's determination and cruelty, the God Emperor of Humanity would have killed the culprit instantly.

But here they were, cleaning the planet without arresting the culprit or even the evidence. This was absolutely strange. Tyrion began to think about what person could make the Emperor act this way.

Tyrion thought hard, then his eyes widened, thinking of something absurd, crazy, and insane. The only people who could make the Emperor act like this were his own family.

Regent Princess Alysanne?

This thought sent shivers down Tyrion's modified body. It was normal for Tyrion to have thought that the culprit was Imperial Princess Alysanne, as she was the heir to the Ruby Throne.

As for the motive, Tyrion could think of dozens in a minute. However, the most important reason was that the Emperor was immortal and could sit forever on the Ruby Throne. As Heir to the Ruby Throne, it was more than normal for Alysanne to want to become Empress of Humanity.

In Tyrion's eyes, this was more than enough for the Regent Princess to rebel. Who wants to be a princess forever? Especially Alysanne, who was an heir and would be the one to sit on the Ruby Throne when the Emperor abdicated or died.

(Note: this will not happen, these are Tyrion's thoughts.)

"Lord Primarch, what is the closest fief to the Isstvan System?" Despite his thoughts, Tyrion's expression was still calm and serene, showing no emotion on his face.

Titus looked at Tyrion with a deep gaze, but still replied in a cold tone. "The Baron of Vea."

Tyrion narrowed his eyes and remembered that he was a minor member of Imperial Prince Maegor's Faction.

The assumption of the culprit began to lean towards Prince Maegor rather than Princess Alysanne. Although Alysanne would gain the most from the rebellion, the relationship between the Regent Princess and the God Emperor was excellent.

Compared to Prince Maegor, who had no hope for the Ruby Throne, he had many reasons to start a rebellion.

Tyrion shook his head and remembered the delicate and special status of Imperial Prince Aegon. As the God Emperor's first male child, Aegon had a rather delicate status in the Imperium, especially since his older sister, Alysanne, was a woman and presumptive heir.

The three figures passed through Tyrion's mind; he began to analyze all three with a serious expression. In the end, Alysanne was last in suspicion and Aegon first, followed by Maegor.

Knowing this, Tyrion couldn't help but take a deep breath. If the Emperor knew about Aegon's rebellion, why did he do nothing and not eliminate the danger even knowing the damage it would cause?

Tyrion's mind was working at high speed; he wanted to stop thinking about these dangerous things, but in the end, he knew that something terribly wrong was happening in the core of the Imperium.

Looking at Titus with a discreet glance, Tyrion presumed that the Primarch knew something, especially being one of the first to follow the God Emperor.

"Lord Primarch, don't you find it strange? In a place so close to Prince Maegor's ally." The First Imperial Counselor said in a calm tone, but his words were full of ulterior motives.

Titus narrowed his eyes and looked at Tyrion with a calm and cold gaze; there was a trace of dissatisfaction on his almost immutably indifferent face. "Lord Counselor, it's better not to overthink; many have lost their minds from overthinking."

Tyrion smiled and was not bothered by the implicit threat in the Primarch's words; the Primarch's own words confirmed that whoever was behind this incident was a prince or princess. No matter who the true culprit of treason was, this was a terrible matter.

"Always so sagacious, Tyrion." Hearing the voice behind him, Tyrion's eyes widened; he turned and saw the figure of the God Emperor looking at him with an amused smile.

Titus, the Primarchs, and all the Astartes present knelt and dared not raise their heads without the God Emperor's permission.

A helpless smile appeared on Tyrion's lips; he knew he had presumed correctly and the culprit was a prince or princess.

Aenar did not tell everyone to stand up and walked across the command bridge of the Gloriana-class Battleship; he reached the window and looked at the planet below him with a look full of curiosity.

"What a botched job." Aenar murmured, his gaze traversing mountains and seas, reaching the secret laboratories. There were about fifty of them, and all were thousands of meters underground.

Looking at "Aegon's Astartes," a trace of disgust flashed in Aenar's eyes. It was a botched and amateurish job. He didn't know what heritage Aegon had gained with the help of the Chaos Gods, but it was definitely just a fragment to create lower-level chimeras.

Yes, Aegon's Astartes were human, but with parts of other races grafted through blood magic. The reason for the low success rate was simply the fact that the human body rejected any foreign body that tried to enter the host's body.

The human body rejected the blood of other humans, much less DNA and parts of animal bodies.

'However, this liquid capable of stabilizing DNA breakdown is interesting; Aegon has some talent in genetics.' Aenar murmured with a tone full of appreciation. He could see that the liquid injected into the test subjects worked as a protective layer around the DNA Structure, but it was full of flaws and loopholes, so it could not provide adequate protection.

If DNA were a house, the stabilizing liquid was the roof, but this roof was full of holes and water entered the house.

"My Emperor, why not prevent this from happening?" Tyrion and everyone knew that the Emperor could see the future, so he was confused by what was happening.

"I educated, taught, helped him shape character and morals, but this is his greedy nature; how can one change one's own nature? A killer has to kill to satisfy the will to kill; the same happens with him." Aenar seemed to be talking to himself, but Tyrion knew he was talking to him.

However, hearing that the culprit was male, Tyrion knew it was Aegon or Maegor. Looking at the disappointed expression on the Emperor's face, he was absolutely sure that it was Imperial Prince Aegon himself.

"At first, I had hope that this 1% would happen, but even so, what I least wanted, happened." Aenar said, looking at the planet's surface with an increasingly indifferent gaze.

"Titus, order the Astartes to descend to the planet's surface and kill all chimeras on the planet. The accomplices and anyone involved in this incident must be killed." He said in a calm tone; in the end, he added. "Do not destroy the planet's surface with antimatter warheads."

Titus rose from his kneeling position and struck his chest forcefully. "Yes, my Emperor."

"I thought Your Grace wanted to destroy the planet's surface and everyone on it." Tyrion said, coming five steps behind Aenar.

"I changed my mind." Aenar said with a smile, looking at the extremely tall man who was once a dwarf.

Tyrion's lips twitched abnormally, hearing the Emperor's voice tinged with amusement.

"I feel your confusion and fear, but don't worry, I have everything under control." Aenar lost his smile and spoke in a calm tone.

"I trust you, otherwise, I would have already retired." Tyrion said in a softer tone.

"Retire?" Aenar seemed to hear something funny; he turned and looked at the Duke of House Lannister. "You will never retire; you will always work for me for all eternity, after all, I am such a good boss."

A heavy sigh escaped Tyrion's lips; he felt that the future was bleak, but at the same time, it was a future full of hope.
