Chapter 341 - 341: Hope!

[The crafting recipes have been modified. Just a heads-up.]

"Strictly speaking, the only part of this entire knowledge field I've taught you so far is the Alchemical Crucible—at most, plus Alchemical Golems. I haven't taught you the rest, mainly because this discipline is too dangerous. You young wizards wouldn't be able to handle it." Kasenhis patted the massive black pillar beside the Infusion Altar.

"Uh… how dangerous can it be?" the Weasley twins asked a very pointed question.

"At best, explosions. At worst, you contaminate part of the terrain. I'll start by showing you how to build a basic Infusion Altar," Kasenhis said, leading the twins out of the glass room as if bringing them there had only been for demonstration.

"First, your wands need a bit of an upgrade." Kasenhis pulled out his Rosewood staff. Unlike ordinary wands, its tip and end were fitted with metal—nothing more, nothing less.

"What should we do?" the twins asked.

"No rush. I'll teach you from the beginning. Come to think of it, you two are truly the first little wizards to learn real mysticism from me. But this subject is far more dangerous than other branches of magic."

"For example, if Transfiguration fails, the one injured is usually just you—or at most a few people very close to you. But with advanced mysticism, if you fail, what you damage could become a large-scale corruption that cannot be repaired, only destroyed."

"Your personalities are rather… lively. That's not ideal…" Kasenhis paused here, making the twins' brows knit together.

"But correspondingly, you're also very responsible. I believe you wouldn't just sit back and let your mistakes drag the whole world down with you." Kasenhis smoothly pivoted, and the twins' brows lifted again.

"Professor, let's begin!" the twins both nodded with rare seriousness.

If at first they had only wanted to learn some ruthless tricks from Kasenhis to push forward their suspension plan—

After hearing Kasenhis's sincere, if slightly clumsy, praise, they suddenly felt that properly learning a new skill wasn't a bad thing at all.

Just like learning a brand-new spell.

The feeling was full of joy and satisfaction.

"First, you'll need a special workbench—the Arcane Worktable. Do you know how to make one? Have I taught you? Oh, of course I haven't, because the Arcane Worktable is step two. Step one is still your staff. Bring that workbench over there."

Kasenhis spoke with obvious excitement. It had been who knew how long since he'd felt this kind of teaching passion. His face was flushed and energized as he pointed at the workbench not far away.

Very quickly, the Weasley twins carried the workbench over.

"Any kind of workbench you use is fine. You could even handcraft it yourselves. But my alchemical workbench is far more convenient than doing it by hand." Kasenhis stood in front of the table and faced the twins. "Whose wand are we using?"

George pulled out his own wand.

"See these nine slots? Put your wand in the center slot," Kasenhis instructed.

George nodded and placed his wand into the middle square.

"The best thing about the alchemical workbench is that you don't have to do it manually. It truly responds to your thoughts." In the blink of an eye, Kasenhis created another workbench beside the first. On its nine-grid surface, he arranged iron nuggets into a Π-shaped pattern. The next moment, two iron wand caps were instantly produced.

He then placed the two caps on the opposite diagonal corners of the nine-grid.

"Now, take the hammer hanging below—and smash!" Kasenhis said excitedly.

"Smash?" Just moments ago, George and Fred had witnessed Kasenhis's most simple yet bizarre and miraculous alchemy. Both of them were still completely dumbfounded when his shout snapped them back to reality.

"Exactly! Smash!" Kasenhis nodded.

"Alright then." George picked up the hammer and brought it down hard onto the nine-grid of the workbench.

Bang!

George's wand and the two iron caps instantly fused together, forming a staff.

He picked up the staff and gave it a casual wave. His magic still flowed through it as smoothly as ever.

At that moment, he slowly raised his head and looked at the approachable alchemy professor in front of him.

If he had seen this move from Kasenhis back in first year or even third year, he might have thought it was nothing special—just basic stuff.

But now, after studying alchemy under Professor Kasenhis for so long, the twins' alchemical skill had already reached the level where they could join the association and pad their own research papers.

And it was precisely at this stage that they truly understood just how ridiculously powerful this friendly, almost buddy-like alchemy professor in front of them really was.

If they hadn't studied alchemy, looking at Professor Kasenhis would have been like looking at the moon's reflection in water.

But now that they had studied alchemy, looking at him was like a mayfly glimpsing the vast blue sky in broad daylight.

"Now, use your Transfiguration and try to transform this workbench!" Kasenhis said excitedly, pounding the workbench in front of him after seeing George successfully craft the staff with his own hands.

If his MC knowledge had once been nothing more than a private celebration for himself and a small few—

Then after the arrival of the "power of I reckon," after Cedric used his own ability to help him add the mechanical arm—

And after his colleagues in the Alchemy Association followed his papers to create the workbench and the redstone engine—

And now, the Weasley twins had even crafted a staff of the Arcane Age with their own hands!

He saw hope!

He might actually be able to spread the power of MC to every corner of the world!

He stared feverishly at George's staff-wielding hand. The moment the workbench touched the staff's tip, it suddenly shifted form, transforming into the dark redwood structure draped with green silk.

"It worked! Your master has succeeded!"

George and Fred both took an involuntary step back, clearly feeling a bit… oddly intimidated by Kasenhis in this state.

Meanwhile, Kasenhis grabbed the twins in a hug and said excitedly, "It's normal that you don't understand how shocking this moment is. After all, you've only studied alchemy for a few days—of course you can't appreciate the brilliance and grandeur within it!"

"Professor, Professor, we can see the shock just by looking at you!"

"But Professor, don't you think your grip is… a bit too strong?!"

the Weasley twins struggled as they shouted.

"Oh, oh… George succeeded. This time, Fred, you're up!" Kasenhis quickly regained his composure, adjusted his monocle, and said.
